Awesome staff! We had a really large group 70+ and the three staff members handled it excellently and had a great sense of humor. The planetarium show is very informative and helps you realize just how special the total eclipse really is. We got to see three different views through the telescope. They have bathrooms onsite and lots of parking around the building and in nearby garages. Really cool! Highly recommend!

Came for the eclipse and could not be more impressed by the programming and staff that lead the event. They made the entire experience richer for me and my children! Great job!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We took a 1st grade field trip here for the first time. Chase was in charge of our visit and did a wonderful job talking to the students, keeping it interesting, but not talking over their level of understanding. The movie, The Little Star That Could, was engaging, educational and the kids loved it. The curriculum that can be downloaded for FREE on the website was helpful and gave us an entire week of activities to get ready for our visit.
Our family had a fantastic time observing the 4/8 total eclipse ! The sun and the moon played their parts flawlessly but the experience was so enjoyable because of the Holcomb Observatory staff. Beautiful grounds kept clean and orderly throughout our visit. The activity tables, the Observatory, and the solar telescopes had friendly and informative volunteers. The master of ceremonies provided timely brief description and explanations in advance and even during the eclipse. An exceptional performance by a passionate group of people made this a wonderful way to experience a highly anticipated event.

Friendly staff! Interactive experience, can't wait to go again
We visit Holcomb Observatory at least twice a year. It's a beautiful place and a very special experience. The Astronomy students have always been wonderful. The presentations always include a tour of the building, a tour of the telescope, a planetarium film, and an additional presentation on the constellations.
So cool to see and see through the largest telescope in the state. It is free to do, you only pay for the planetarium show, which we did and enjoyed as well!Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
