I came with my family and waited a good 20 minutes for seating. I don't mind waiting as that shows a good environment and people liking the place. After watching many plates go by me as I waited I decided on the French dip. I was rather saddened that the waitresses didn't ask about any appetizers but with her short attitude I didn't want to interrupt her as she walked off as soon as my party was finished ordering. I got my meal and it really looked appetizing. But the dip was separating as I was eating and could tell that it was not from the dripping but powdered made. As well half way through the sandwich was cold. What really upset me was that she brought the bill and did not ask for dessert. She did not ask about appetizers or dessert! That is absolutely uncalled for for a waitress at this astablishment. I feel that this should be addressed to your servers as that could have doubled my bill and made a happier experience and a better tip for the waitress. I heard her miss this at the other tables around me and as I'm writing this in the restaurant the table beside me had to ask her about desserts and she didn't even know the full menu of options.

Hometown diner is what you expect from a place behind with a late 1940's dinner exterior, good hearty meals, and a fun atmosphere. Standard fare can be found, pancakes, eggs, omelettes, and amazing corn beef hash. Try the Irish Benedict, my favorite. They also serve bloody mary's and drink specials. There is a full compliment of blue plate dinner offerings as well with gravy specials to ensure a new experience every visit. Staff is very friendly and polite.

I love Hometown Diner. I generally go there very early mornings 5-30-6:30 am ish twice a month. Not busy then. The breakfast is always delicious, fresh, timely. The place, including the restroom, is always clean. The employees are quick and always nice. My husband is never irritated. Score!! I am very tolerant. I have driven by in early evenings and the parking lot is full. They also have a back room as well as outside dining for the warmer seasons. The area is beautiful being in rural NH. I d really like to take my city dwelling friends there.

I have to say I was extremely disappointed with this visit I have frequented the diner on several occasions and it was always great service great food this particular visit I went at an off time it wasn't too busy the food took way too long to arrive it was a bit cold.... during my time there I had the opportunity to observe a young girl who was waitressing blow her nose right at the front counter pull out her phone out of her back pocket do a couple of things on it put the phone back in her pocket wiped her nose with the back of her hand then proceeded to grab two coffee cups and the coffee pot fill those cups and serve them to two guests I was utterly disgusted and it made me rethink my decision of whether or not I would visit the establishment again... such a disappointment I had often recommended this establishment to many people to witch in the future I will refrain from doing so... this picture is from the coffee cup as you can see there are a couple of rings around the inside which is indicative of residues left behind a sign that the mug was not sufficiently cleaned.... very disappointing......

Bring your appetite! Portions are large for the price. I'd prefer crispier hash browns, but that's just me. The homemade corned beef hash is a must-get. Service is always prompt and very friendly. And who doesn't love the atmosphere of sitting at the counter and joking with the staff? Great place for a quick breakfast.
