Honey Creek Tackle is your one-stop shopping experience for all things fishing, archery, firearms, and hunting accessories. Our competition is limited to online discount stores, but with the benefits of a local sporting goods store.
In July of 2005, Honey Creek Tackle was created in a garage where fisherman came to hang out, sit around the table and tell stories (and maybe some lies) about the year’s catches. From that garage, the idea was born to transport this environment, this comraraderie, to a brick and mortar, fully-stocked establishment to allow others to share. In late 2009, Honey Creek Tackle moved out of that garage and built a 6,000+ square foot fishermen’s hangout--bar stools around the counter, flat screen TV’s on the wall, and sofas for the ones who want to stay all day.
A mere four years after opening, the store has developed into a full-line fishing tackle pro shop, offering the leading edge in tackle, electronics and accessories. Honey Creek Tackle also offers installation of trolling motors and electronics, as well as other boat-rigging accessories, and is an Authorized Service Center for Minn Kota and Humminbird.
Although “tackle” may be in the name, don’t let that fool you! Honey Creek Tackle also has a full line of handguns and long guns, new and used, from manufacturers such as Browning, Glock, Ruger, and Smith & Wesson. With an experienced staff on hand, they will gladly educate and guide you in your purchase of a firearm, whether it’s for self-protection or for hunting that big Whitetail.
However, feeling an element in this “hang out” was missing, Honey Creek Tackle, referred to by its loyal customers merely as “HCT,” eventually added on an additional 7,000+ square feet to include the archery range. By allowing a person to shoot up to 40 yards on one of 24 lanes, HCT has become central Indiana’s largest indoor archery range. During a 3-D shoot, a shooter can aim for one of 30 targets hidden among the “evergreens". The archery staff, including two full-time certified bow technicians, is trained with the knowledge that can tune your bow or crossbow to kill the big one!
HCT’s ambition is to provide exceptional customer service to all who visit, regardless if it’s to purchase a tube of crickets for a pet lizard, to have a draw length measured for a new bow, or to merely visit. The environment is intended to be cozy & homey
HCT is also a pet-friendly place! Your pets are welcome, whatever they may be. Some customers have been lucky enough to see HCT’s pets—English Bulldogs, Lola & Lucy. Lola sits so motionless on the couch, customers have thought she was stuffed!! Lucy has been known to meander between rows of customers who were sitting in on an electronics seminar just so she could swipe a plastic soda bottle to play with!
