Well been getting hams here for a lot of years. This Christmas was a bad ham. Burnt on the outside. They use to let you glance at the ham but no longer allow it. We opened the ham 30 minutes before we were all ready to eat. Terrible and dry.
This place offered a perfect dinner or lunch for Christmas Day. We are smaller numbers so we got the quarter honeyham bone in it was wonderful. Their sides are also amazing. The potatoes au gratin are wonderful. We got an Apple pie that was out of this world and they gave us a free blueberry coffee cake because they forgot to put in the Apple pie and I had to come back and get it. I highly recommend this place but order a head because there is quite a demand especially during the holidays.
By far the worst Honey Baked ham store in terms of organization I have seen. You know that on holidays especially the day before Thanksgiving, you need to adequately staff and organize for the big day. I have been going to Honey Baked ham every year all over the country and never had to deal with the mess I did today. The employee had the nerve to tell me, “you should have known it would be this packed” yes, there is a line every time I have been, but that’s for people who haven’t paid. The pre-pay line is always three to four people in line, and that’s a maximum. I will not come to this unorganized store again in the future as if I have time to wait an hour for a pre-paid ham. I’m not getting paid to work there with any of you, and I choose to pre-pay like I have done every year. Management needs to go to other stores to see how they run their store so that this doesn’t happen in the future.
If you enjoy really good sweet ham, turkey, chicken-based sandwiches this is a place for you. The meat served here is always fresh, sweet and delicious. The bread also tends to be very fresh and tastes like it’s homemade. The staff is always super friendly and if you become a regular here they will know you by your first name. They also sell a wide variety of condiments that are very yummy. From there sweet mayonnaise to their sweet pickles it is very good. Now as the name of this place indicates most of the meets are lightly sweetened with honey if you do not have a sweet tooth I wouldn’t recommend coming here though I’m sure you could ask them to hold the condiments. Overall this is a great sandwich place.
The owners of the Richmond location are wonderful and accommodating! They helpful fulfill a workplace catering order easily and on time. Happy with the food, delivery and service.
Our Thanksgiving ham and mini rum cakes were to die for, and the service was great!
Do not waste your time ordering from here. Better off just buying at a local HEB and cooking everything yourself! Ordered my Thanksgiving meal for my company and when we went to pick-up, the turkey was completely frozen and the ham is warm! Really!
Yvette at the Richmond ave location is amazing and gave me hope in the world. After call endlessly for two day and receiving No answer from this. So I went to the location talked to someone and had to reserve for black Friday. One Friday I arrived at 8:30 to see they were closed until 9:30. I stood there a said to myself that I would just wait. Yvette was mopping the floor to the entrance. I explained my situation and she said come in. She didn't have to help since I was 45 early but she did with a smile. She welcomed me in and within minutes I had a perfect ham. Others were polite but the bold older store manager did not say hi nor did he have on a MASK during this holiday pandemic. Everyone one else had on one but him. All in all Yvette was a dear and deserves a raise bc you can tell she loves her job and the customers. Great job and Happy Holidays.
Extremely disappointed and annoyed at my experience with this location. First time I order from here. The company I work for gave us Gift Cards from here. I placed an online order a couple of days ago. I was scheduled for pick up today sometime after 4. I was running late and made it at 7. When I arrived and my QR code was scanned I was asked to get my sides from the freezer and that my Turkey was not available and they had something else instead. I told them no since the whole purpose to order online is to have everything ready which it wasn’t. The staff was rude and unapologetic. The man in charge asked what time was I supposed to pick up my order and then said “we’ll what time is it now” He offered a frozen turkey but this did not solve my issue. I asked for a refund instead. This location should have been more prepared and have had pre-paid online orders separately. Email said they can hold order up to 24 hours which doesn’t work since tomorrow is a Holiday. Hopefully this can help staff be more prepared for the next Holiday Rush.
Albert and Yvonne are just excellent! I went to this location today, with a gift card I had received for Christmas. I had called earlier, and despite the phones ringing like crazy - Albert was very kind and brought his VERY BEST customer service forward. Our visit in store was no exception - and frankly even better!!! I'll never EVER buy another Holiday meal anywhere else - and that is thanks to the excellent customer service of Albert and Yvonne! Happy New Year! Already off to a great start!!!!!
