THE. WORST. VPC. I have EVER encountered in 20 plus years of service! I have shipped multiple vehicles multiple time overseas and never have I encountered such a slow, terrible customer service experience. Their throughput is absolutely terrible! The staff who gets your paperwork ready does not communicate! The first person I talk to told me something and the next person I talked to told me something completely different! My favorite part of the operation is the fact that their entire operation stops doing anything during their posted “break times.” They do that because customer service is not their priority because this is a government contract and they are going to get paid no matter what! Lastly someone else who was waiting had an appointment at 1:15 and didn’t get his paperwork started until 2:46! If you have to deal with this VPC please be prepared to not have a pleasant or easy experience! Lastly after having gone through the entire process, the problem is not with the inspectors, the problem is with the staff who prepares the paperwork!
They have one job. Ship cars and they can’t even do it right. I guess that’s what comes with the “lowest bidder” an absolute embarrassment of a company. Treating us service members like second class citizens maybe cause we don’t pay for shipping ourselves? Maybe if you’re a higher ranking officer you get the red carpet treatment. As for us enlisted folks we get the “dollar menu.” Whoever owns this company should be ashamed. They expect us to bring in our cars in showroom quality and then we get them back like it rolled around in the dirt. They embody the term “Good enough for Government use.”
Overall a smooth process if you have all required documents and a clean vehicle. I was a walk in on a busy Monday morning at 0700 and was finished by 0930. Tip, if you and your spouse names are on the title and registration you will need to have a Letter of Authorization and a Permission to Ship Form signed by you and the Spouse or Parent Guardian. The staff was very helpful and allowed me to email the form to my spouse to sign and email to the office. I was able to keep my spot and process my vehicle. Great customer service and the facilities was clean.
The VPC has a great system. They’d have a fifth star if the staff lining you up in the parking lot behaved a bit less like drill sergeants. Otherwise, very professional and organized. Most importantly, I got my vehicle quickly with no issues.
**REVIEW IS FOR PICKING UP VEHICLE** Bring the original vehicle inspection form and a valid ID and you'll be in and out in under 45 minutes. Be thorough when looking over the vehicle as you will only have 48 hours to report damages.
The process was smooth up until the claims process. Had damage to vehicle, went to report it only to be told one called out sick and the other was in break and it would be another hour to be seen. Was given instructions to email in damage, sent it in two weeks ago, followed up, and still have yet to hear back from the claims section. Don't want to give one star and disregard the customer service I had up until the claims piece.
One of the worst experiences I have ever had. My cars battery died in their care. The car wasn’t in the vehicle inspection are and they were pushing me to sign the paperwork. I contacted their claims and they just washed their hands of me. When I got back to the mainland I will be paying for my own vehicle transport.
Walked in with all the listed documents and at my appointment they decide they need more documents that weren’t even listed in the online packet. Hey VPC, maybe consider adding “mechanics letter stating the vehicle with a recall is safe to ship” to your online instructions before people show up to their appointment and then demanding it because “My manager said so”. $200 for a letter from Ford because “my manager said so.”
Thorough inspection, friendly staff. Just make sure you have all of you paperwork ready before hand. It may also be useful to stop by a day or two prior to your appointment to make sure the admin is correct. Unfortunately, they put my appointment in the middle of a break period so there was a bit of a delay.
My experience at this VPC was very straight forward. I made sure my car was as clean as possible, I had all my documentation beforehand, and that I arrived before my appointment time. Everybody there seemed to be in a good mood and I had zero issues with the inspection or administrative processing prior. It really was that easy. I spent just under 40 minutes conducting a drop-off. For people dropping off vehicles, here is my advice. The vehicle needs to be washed and vacuumed prior to arriving. Spend the time getting all the carpet and inside the compartments Spare tire, storage, etc and you'll be fine. The exterior needs to be free of debris and clean. It doesn't have to be polished to a showroom finish to pass. Gunk and road grime need to be cleaned off. The paperwork that is needed is all on the website. Print it out and complete it all prior to arrival. Bring single sided copies of orders that they can take and it will save that much more time. If you arrive prior to them opening, they will come out a few minutes early to have people start signing in. Walk-ins will be seen after everybody else. If you have an appointment, you'll get seen in the order they are scheduled. They currently only allow one person in at a time. Additional people will need to stay in the waiting area if they wish to stay. The waiting area is now covered and they have bathrooms available that are clean and air conditioned outside. Truthfully, there isn't enough room for everybody to be inside with their friends or family and 1 person per vehicle is plenty when you have cars moving all over the place and inspections going on. What else can I say. Be an adult. Get in. Have your stuff. Follow instructions. Get out.
