Dr. Schapiro have been my Dr for over 15years and I have recommended him to everyone I know. He is not only extremely professional but with lots of empathy. His office staff is the best and always helps me with all my appointments regardless were they are. I had two major back surgeries and he has always been there for me regardless and done hospital visits to make sure I am taken care off.
Dr. Schapiro did not call me back with lab results for my annual physical weeks after my appointment. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to draw blood, he sent me to quest so they could take my sample for a fourth time. I tried calling his office multiple times a week after my appointment to no avail and either his receptionist said he would call or I received no response. This was after informing him of a previous experience where another medical professional never provided my lab results either and him mentioning it was required by law. My husband’s experience with him was very different but I’m disappointed.
Save your money, time and energy and do not go to this doctors office. The front desk receptionist Grace is rude, unprofessional and she screens Dr. Schapiro calls extremely rudely. She will not give him the messages to return your call. I'm sure Dr. Schapiro is seeing these reviews and he is allowing her to continue to work for him, while disappointing his patients. When I challenged her as to why I could not get a return call from him, she argued with me on the telephone and was determine for me to share with her my medical information which is against HIPPA laws. She slammed the phone in my ear hanging up the telephone. Grace is the reason I cut ties with this medical office. Dr. Schapiro is no longer my doctor. He is a nice person, however his practice will not go far with someone such as Grace working for him. Your staff speaks alot about you when you allow this type of behavior.
Never met the doctor, so I will spare a my criticism on him. However, his staff was remarkably rude on the phone to new patients. I sensed no sympathy when creating an appointment as it felt rushed and brash. They do not send out ANY reminders and blame the patient for not remembering an appointment 3 weeks in the making not even an email confirmation when appointment was made, which causes me to wonder if they genuinely care about seeing their patients. When they called me to remind me that I missed my appointment they simply said that I should've wrote it down and that they aren't responsible for sending out reminders. How kind for an establishment that's main purpose is care. Dr. Shapiro I am sure is a kind, professional physician. But at least two of his receptionists are what makes the Healthcare system in America an embarrassing stain to this nation.
Dr. Shapiro is great! he always cures me when other have failed. Very fast to get an appointment compared to other doctors that give you and appointment when you are not sick anymore. The lobby person is very nice and efficient.
Office called on short notice 90m before appointment to cancel appointment claiming that they had problems with Cigna insurance although when I contacted Cigna they confirmed that no provider call has been made and that coverage is given. Very strange from doctors office and apparently no interest in contacting insurance / work for the patient.
I appreciate Dr. Shapiro's professionalism, knowledge, patience with patient and positiveness with full respect every time whenever I went to his office, for years now. My sincere impression is that he do really care and respect every patient that visits him and gives outstanding service. I am thankful for that. The office is very clean and tidy, and the reception are very friendly with positive and honest smiling approach, always willing to go one more step further to assist.
Family members and other hospitals have contacted this doctor to get medical records forwarded, without compliance. There is a total lack of responsibility. Please save your money and go elsewhere.
Hi, just waited on hold 4 minutes with the receptionist trying to schedule a new patient appointment no problem, 1 minute into speaking with her she was very impatient, asked to put me on hold again bc she has another call-- I told her if she wouldnt mind, I just waited nearly 5 minutes-- I tried to continue to schedule an appointment-- she gave me two dates-- I then asked for the next week and she said please hold to help another patient --waited 2 more minutes on hold and gave up. Terrible way to introduce someone to your practice. Receptionist is rude and impatient. Will not be calling back. I work in healthcare, and I understand the demands of the phone service, and I would never want my receptionist treating a patient like that.
Understanding now why a 3.7 rating. His front office staff Grace is extremely rude. When trying to gain understanding as to why a cancellation is being made for a 93 yr old, Grace gets upset and hang up the phone. And she never let you speak with the dr. I only hope the dr is aware of his incompetent staff and how she treats his patients. Her main concern is money and not patients care or any type of empathy unless you are of her origin. Notice the names of the 5 star ratings 90% from her country.
