Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable, and the front desk is so helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Some recent renovations were easily seen and it appeared some are still in the works. This didn't take away from our stay/ inconvenience us at all. If you want cleanliness, hospitality, and historic charm book nowRooms: 5/5
Would definitely book a room here again. The location is fabulous. Also they have 8 free parking spaces that I luckily was able to use every night. I personally like the self checkin and communication through emails. In fact I had a maintenance issue and it was resolved much easier and quicker than some hotels that are fully staffed. Love the historic character of this building. The only down side really was the cheap fixtures that they remodeled with. When you go for modern decor it can look very cheap especially when it is. The bathroom vanity was literally falling apart. Also the bathroom wasn't very clean. There was some sort of liquid stains all over the walls, maybe they just needed repainting but it felt gross to me. Another thing they could use would he a snack and drink vending machine. I had to go next door to Leon's to buy bottles of water.
Cool and hip stay. Staff is exceptional, and rooms are spacious and clean. Parking was so convenient on the street next to the hotel.Rooms: 5/5
It was a clean, antique place beautifully decorated. No onsite front desk was different. But it worked. It was clean and quiet. The veiw up high was great.Rooms: 5/5
I had a great experience at this hotel. I only stayed one night, in the middle of the week, because my husband was in the hospital nearby. I am a low-maintenance person, so I was thrilled that I didn't see another soul while I was there. It seems that they have addressed some of the complaints I saw in other reviews. There was a very handy extra outlet/charger cube on the side table. I didn't see a speck of dust anywhere, even at the top of the super-long curtains. I'm terrified of bed bugs, so inspected the bed with a flashlight and saw nothing, not even lint! Although I liked the electronic entry and self check-in, it is kind of weird to have email as your only means of communication. Real-time chat on the app would be much more efficient and personable. The room was quaint, beautifully designed, and had everything I needed. The area is interesting and hipster-y, located near University of Maryland Medical School campus. I walked around after dark as a woman by herself and was not nervous. If you think the area is seedy, you probably shouldn't be traveling to any major cities...
I had reviewed this establishment back in August because I had a good experience but now I'm sadly going to have to update the review. I recommended a friend to the hotel and when she arrived there was a USED condom on the bed as well as a piece of worn lingerie. She sent me a photo so I know this is not an exaggeration. Also when I had a problem with my reservation in September when I was going back to the area they were ENTIRELY unhelpful. I would not recommend the establishment.
I was a little nervous about all the previous reviews, but this place was fantastic! Idk if it’s because the time of year/staying during a weekday that makes my experience different from other reviews, but I have no complaints! Of course there are random little sounds from it being an older building and it being a hotel that others are going to stay in, but that is to be expected. Big pros: •Great area with lots of cute bars, restaurants, near the Washington monument and the Baltimore school of the arts •We got a King room and the bed was comfy, room was immaculate, and the shower was great! •Parking for free!!! •You cannot beat the price I will definitely be booking again any time I am back in the area!
Horrible. Wife's birthday. 6 kids finally get away for sometime just us. Booked in advance. Day before 5pm to be exact I get a email stating they canceled my reservation no rooms available. Paid for babysitter etc. Not a phone call nothing to try to help. Just a refund 7 to 10 days. Now gotta go find a place day before. But as a customer have to give notice to cancel or no refund. But they can cancel night before and I gotta wait for refund. Horrible. Will not recommend. You will get screwed by them. Noteworthy details: Horrible
These pics were taken at the end of My stay here, so they may not be the best. I however did enjoy my stay. The hotel was in a not so busy part of downtown Baltimore, but it was close enough walking distance to places I had in mind to visit while there. The hotel was very quiet, didn't get disturbed one and it didn't matter the time of day. The hotel is contactless, so there's no front desk, but I had no need for one either. There are a couple of members of a cleaning staff daily but they are there to tend to the rooms after guest leave. I'm not sure if you requested a room refresh if they'd provide that service though. Parking was limited, but by the hotel not being as busy as one of the more bigger chains I never had an issue getting a space right out front. The staff there were friendly and greeted Me every time they saw Me. Some cons I can point out: The rest room in my unit kept my room from being the warmest it could be, but closing the door made it a more comfortable temp. The attention to detail when cleaning should be gone over with the cleaning staff. I did go over high touch areas with my own disinfectant wipes. There were things left behind from the previous guest that should have not been there by my check in. I requested early check-in but when I got there My code to obtain access didn't work! Luckily there was someone in the main sitting area to let Me in. One of the staff members I let know about the situation did make sure that by the next time I had to come through the door my code should be good to use and it was so I'm grateful for that! All and all I would definitely stay here again. The location is great, it's reasonably priced and it's quite and those are major pluses in My book!
$3,000 worth of credit cards and phones were stolen DIRECTLY out of our hotel room & when brought to the attention of the hotel they refused to turn over ring camera footage to help us. There is a keypad to get into the hotel and an app/passcode protected ring camera on each door so we assumed it was safe. The accommodations are probably relatively safe for Baltimore area, but we had a very negative experience.
