If i could rate this a 0 I would. I have not had one good experience with their business office. They told me I owed a good chunk of money for classes I took years ago and that they wouldn't transfer my official transcript to my university until I payed them. SO I DID. Come to find out I owed a collections fee of almost $300.00. So okay, I don't have time for this. I call the collections company and pay them. Then they tell me that I did NOT pay the collections fee from my end even though I provided a confirmation code given to me by the collections company along with the ladies names that helped me and the overall total. They ended up adding what I had already payed to my student account and refused to remove the hold until I ONCE AGAIN, pay a payment that iv'e already payed. Stay away from this school system. They'll rob you from your money. They've done this to me before. Lonestar College's staff is so much more efficient and professional.
Not organized. Quick to take get their financial aid money but slow to release loans that students are entitled to. I transferred here from another city and at the end of the semester will not be returning for another semester. Staff is very rude and the student Resolution center staff are very rude and unprofessional! Financial aid department isn't very helpful and no one ever responds to any questions or issues a student have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND TIME!
Very rude the lady from the zoom and office. Worst Help Service. They don’t help to students like me and they need a lot of training to improve helping other students in campus. Have a better good actitude.
Worst customer service I have ever in my life experienced. Since day one they have been un-knowledgeable, rude, self righteous, and not willing to help in any way. This is my first year attending college and it has been hell to say the least. I was told I had to test, and then after taking the placement tests was told I didn't have to, so I wasted time and money away from work. Was told that the office stayed open for financial aide and the website even displayed it as such, only to drive all the way out there and find out it was closed. I've had multiple reps in all aspects tell me one thing only to have another rep tell me another. I was told I was awarded grant money, only to have it lowered two weeks before school started, and my classes dropped when they told me I just had to attend and it would pull from my grant once I was shown as present... Seriously what is wrong with this staff? Obviously they only want to receive an easy paycheck. Let me also be clear and state that I did everything proactively and actively followed up to make sure everything was in order in a very polite manner only to have everything fall apart because of their poor guidance right before I have to attend class. If they didn't offer a fashion design program or if i had better options I would NOT have chosen this school. They don't even deserve the one star i am obligated to offer for this review. All staff needs to be reevaluated and find people who want to actually help kids go to college. I've had to struggle for 7 years just to get here and I won't let this college ruin my progress. I filed a formal complain with the Board of Education, lets hope they investigate and find this school to be what it is. A joke. Thanks for nothing.
I go to UH and I am writing this review based on their customer service. For one, they didn't offer a basic core class during the summer, which is confusing for being a college centered around basic core requirements for an associates degree, so I'm confused what exactly they have left to offer. Two, every time I called they acted like they were above me, and I was an idiot, which is weird coming from a school that basically has no requirements for admissions. UH, a school five times their size and probably gets 700 calls a day, has exceptional customer service compared to this joke of a school. Avoiding like the plague.
I've had a really good experience with this college. I've had some great professors, made some great friends, and have learned a lot of useful information pertaining to my degree film, if anyone's wondering. My only real issue is that the credit plan for my degree has been rearranged and twisted like nothing else. What the counselors tell me and what my online plan tells me sometimes contradict each other and I've usually had to talk to at least five differing people when deciding my classes for the following semester. This past semester, the plan for some reason placed a class I had just finished taking into a category of classes that didn't apply to my degree when the class did in fact apply. Thankfully, I was able to sort it out. But, aside from that one issue, I've had no other major issues with this college.
This has to be THE WORST school I've ever attended. I wouldn't recommend this money pit to anyone. This school, namely the nursing program is a ridiculously shameful mess. Much of the faculty and most of the upper administration conduct themselves as if ethics and professionalism no longer exist. I would have awarded zero stars if possible. This community college prays on the wallets and dreams of it's students with little accord for what's right. I'm not sure who to feel more embarrassed for, myself for choosing this school, the faculty, or the administration. It's extremely disorganized and pays little attention to students when a real problem does occur. Save yourself your time, money and sanity by choosing a school that lives up to being called a college. STUDENTS BEWARE.
Come on guys, it's not that bad. This is a community college not the ivy league. Learn what you can and transfer. I've had no bad experiences with the staff here..perhaps that's because I treat them with respect. My one complaint is that counselors will give you contradictory information so I suggest you do you your own research about what classes you should take.
This has been the worst school experience ever. Especially dealing with the VA department. No one likes to answer the phone and got hung up on several times and no one knows their job. They blame it on another department, call and talk to the other department and they blame it on the other vice versa. Definitely would not recommend for any veterans unless you like dealing with headaches each semester.
My entire semester experience was the worst experience i've ever experienced at any college. The ENTIRE working staff is completely useless, incompetent, lazy, and simply do not care AT ALL. To begin, when transferring my transcripts, for some reason they registered my already accredited classes, but put the wrong date of completion, they put that I completed all of these courses in 2015 when i transferred it was 2014, because of their mistake i missed out on registering in the classes i needed because the classes had filled up. This school tries to do whatever they can to keep your student loans, financial aide is a nightmare through this "college". It is Dec. 5th 2014, my semester ends next week, and i have still not received my loan for this semester. NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING THAT IS GOING ON EVER!! They always direct you to someone else who knows nothing and its a continuous pattern. Also the "Advisors" are a joke, the first one i saw was extremely disorganized, didn't know anything what a surprise and delayed my admission, the second one was very rude and seemed bothered that she had to do her job which was tell me to look stuff up online, Thanks for the help! :/ I tried to set up a date to take my final at the testing center nearby that my teacher told us to take it at, well turns out that place closed a couple years ago, so as usual i had to try and find it the hard way. This school is a non-stop hassle nightmare, if you like being treated with very little respect, if you like spending lots of time trying to figure out things and fix THEIR mistakes due to their incompetence and laziness,or if you call the "HELP DESK" and their response to every question is "Idk whats you's talkin bout', you might wanna ax someone else in another department" Then this is the college for you, If you expect a professional, organized, efficient college you better look elsewhere. Also, everyone one of my "teachers"idk why they are called that, they literally don't do anything besides boast about the fact they have a PhD yet you have to teach yourself everything all my teachers, every single hand out they gave out was filled, and i mean filled with grammatical errors and spelling errors, i get that not everyone is perfect but come on, your a "college professor" and love to be called Dr. because you have a PhD, at least get one hand out without a spelling error. Oh last thing, several times my teacher just didn't even show up at all, no note on the door or alert or anything, no show, and then thought it was funny when he returned the next class, not one apology for wasting our time or gas.
