Houston Metro
"METRO opened for business in 1979, inheriting a company called HouTran with a bus fleet in disrepair and service that was unreliable. During the 1980s, improvements were made, and the system became increasingly safe, clean and reliable.Ground was broken on METRO’s first rail line in March 2001. The original 7.5 mile, 16-station line ran from UH-Downtown to Fannin South. Service began on New Year’s Day 2004. That line remains part of what’s now known as the Red Line.In November 2003, voters approved the METRO Solutions referendum which called for significant expansion of light rail and other METRO services."

We conducted a quarterly meeting at the metro board room here. Wonderful facility, very accommodating for our meeting needs. Most importantly, the staff were absolutely exceptional. From security guards to customer service. Everyone was utterly professional, and so accommodating. Really a breath of fresh air.
I adore the metro system!! A fantastic method to move around the city that is both economical and environmentally beneficial. Most drivers are usually nice enough to help you figure out where you need to go if you're lost, but Google Maps can easily route you where you need to go and tell you the bus schedules. Just don't stand too close to the curb when the bus arrives for fear of being hit in the side mirrors. I'd also like to see the metro train service expanded. Houston is EXTREMELY OVERDUE for a rail system redesign.
I love the metro service!! A great way to get around this city in an economic and environmentally friendly way. Typically most drivers are kind enough to help you figure out the way to where you needed to go if confused, but Google Maps has the ability to route you where you need to go and tell you the bus times with no issue. Just don't stand close to the curb when the bus pulls up for fear of getting smacked by their side view mirrors. I also wish that they would expand the metro rail service. Houston is EXTREMELY OVERDUE for a restructuring of the rail system for this city.
The trains are essentially mobile homeless shelters that polite people don't want to come near.
Very bad customer service when trying to buy a new metro Q card, waited 15 minutes in line and there was just one person ahead. When I got to the counter and asked to reload my company issued commuter card the person in charge stole my card saying it could not give it back, it is my card and I want it back, this happened on 1/19/2023 at around 12:30pm, I can prove it belongs to me as it was issued as a benefit.
Well I got what I needed and the only problem I had was a bike that I left on the bus. I still haven't gotten it and it's in another place that's ought of my way but it will get there and that's all that matter. OK.? So I am pleased.
Everyone was Excellent, including the guard... he was very caring... usually guards a mean-spirited... He was very helpful... So was the clerk at window #1... ty
Metro is the worst run organization. HOV lane access points for anything other than park and ride lots are a complete mystery. I think this is purposely confusing so as to not encourage use of the HOV by private citizens. Only a few easy access or exit points. Directions online are also an absolute joke.
Very friendly efficient staff. I took care of my business in a timely manner. The supervisors around the facility were just that. SUPER! Great atmosphere inside and outside!
Fast interview, beautiful place, nice helpful staff and beautiful Christmas tree
