The reason I want to write a comment on this page is to complain how this organization's employees treat people. These people are very rude, unprofessional and uneducated. They hang up the phone once they figure out "you are not qualified to talk to me". They interrupt when I am talking. If you are running an communication organization but you even don't know how to talk to people, then I would prefer you close your door and find another career path. You call me and I answer the phone call. However, I got slap on my face by those self-righteous who think themselves are changing the world and making history. That is sad. HRC, you are a LOSER! The thing you are doing may be good, may be right, but yourself is wrong. Your employees are sick.
Once becoming a member, there will be continual pressure to increase your contributions. I’ve tried to cancel my contributions via voicemail and online, and have not been able to do so. This organization is anything but righteous
This organization is merely a money making machine, a periphery of gay white nationalist organization in disguise glorifying itself as a liberal progressive. I met couple staffs; they would indeed serve better at promoting Richard Spencer's ultimatum than on social or cultural issues with each of every LGBT community.
HRC has disgraced itself and lost any integrity it had by endorsing Hilary Clinton over Bernie Sanders! Hilary has been against gay marriage as first lady and as a Senator from NEW YORK!!! She has done one of her flip flops now that it is safe to do so while Bernie Sanders has spent his entire career in support of the LGBT community which sadly has a short attention span. The cover of your winter 2016 rag with Hilary on the front stating her fight is our fight tells us just how ignorant and easily fooled HRC is. I have cancelled my subscription and taken your bumper sticker off my car!! Shame on you all!
This is a gorgeous building with a great meeting space. Went to an event in the ground floor meeting area and it was stunningly designed. The architecture was full of clean lines and the space was very fresh. The floors are white marble - so no red wine is allowed.
This place is seriously the most hypocritical place I have ever been. The receptionist Amy Hass treats everyone who is not a celebrity like crap. They only care about LGBT rights if the person is famous. These people don't help your every day LGBT people and they defiantly dont help with actual probables going on in the community.
Very amazing organization, they are fighting for the equality of LGBT people across the world. This is great and a great place to intern. I would say it is one of the places that best treats there interns in Washington, DC.
I canceled my membership with HRC. I was under the impression they deal with a lot of issues but the only issue keep coming up on their homepage is LGTBQ issue. I am straight and have nothing against LGTBQ but it is a shame they do not address other mainstream issues that American's are facing. One star for one issue and their website needs more work to be done. Like others said, it is hard to follow up on the issues they are working on.
HRC fights for LGBTQI rights across America and, increasingly, around the world. They work hard and fight relentlessly to promote, protect, and defend our civil rights. Thank you, HRC, and keep fighting the good fight!
Amy on the first floor was very rude and discriminated against me. Could you replace her with a hospitable person. I went home and cried. I have been abused, tortured, humiliated and victimized. Amy made the pain worse. I thought I would be treated with compassion as a member of HRC. She should be fired.
