Best food in shaver. Grew up stopping at this place to eat when I was in high school 2000 on my way home from China Peak known then as Sierra Summit. This place has come a long way. Their Hut burger is awesome and their shakes are amazing. My kids loved the shakes got the Oreo shake. If you’re up there, stop in and grab some food.
What a find! The burgers were delicious. Fries were seasoned with a special blend of salt and spices and were quite tasty. BUT the CHOCOLATE SHAKE was the bomb. Great flavor, super thick, and a good size for the price. Mom had the chicken sandwich and loved it. Really enjoyed sitting on the patio, plenty of shade. Will stop again next time we are in the area.
Cold Burgers, bad service. Long waits 50 minutes to get our food another 20 minutes to get our drinks. People, long lines don't always mean the food is delicious. I will never eat there again. They need to invest in better Management. I have never received my food in 2 parts with no disregard. " Sorry we are very busy" great problem to have if you have the staff and are able to fullfill orders maintining quality not quantity.
Giving it a 3 star review JUST because the shakes are bomb although they gave my kids and husband diarrhea.. they didn’t mind since the shakes are bomb. We even went two days in a row. I had the strawberry shake but my stomach was fine. They had chocolate & Oreo. Burgers are not good. I ordered two kids meals and 4 HUT Burgers. Hut burgers were soggy which I wouldn’t think they would since it took them 45 min which we weren’t told there was a wait and there weren’t many people there at the time of our order, the wait wasn’t an issue. That’s expected in a small tourist town to give us our order with one kids meal missing and another one being VERY RAW!! I have picture, but unfortunately it doesn’t let me post!. You want a good burger go to Shaver Lake Pub N Grub… there’s a wait there too but so worth the meal. Again, the shakes are good but not the burgers.
Love the food here and the new owner is awesome. I showed up at 8:15pm on a Thursday to buy a milkshake. The owner politely told me they close at 8pm, then asked what I was there for. I told them I came for shake but I could get one next time. The owner then had someone on his team make me a shake amazing then tried to give it to me for free wow. Owner treated everyone with kindness and respect. I highly recommend this place.
I'm thinking hungry hut has new ownership but let me tell you they haven't stopped making delicious milkshakes.
The bartender was a true mixologist! They weren't open for dinner yet, but the atmosphere was so original and welcoming that we had no desire to leave. The drinks were spot on, and gave us time to just relax and soak it all in.
Stopped by after our check-out from our cabin. It was only minutes away. They have really good burgers! The highlight for me tho was their Oreo Shake!! Straight . Definitely worth a try!!Food: 5/5
The burgers were decent and the fries were underwhelming. The onion rings were good but they provide minimal ranch or BBQ sauce-even when you pay for extra. I ordered the Hut and it came with light sauce that I can barely taste. HOWEVER, their shakes are to die for! They come just frozen enough to be a shake but not give you a brain freeze.
Bomb.... great hamburgers. Not overly expensive for a touristy town. According to my granddaughter's great milkshakes. I've gone there twice last month when I went up to the area to hike. Now we've decided it has to be a tradition that every time we go to hike we go to the Hungry hut. The only downside is they could not let it use the restroom because they said they had low water pressure so we had to go down the street to use a restroom and wash our hands. Everyone here was super super nice
