Small rest stop with clean restrooms. At least the day we went, which was a Tuesday around 3:30 pm. The custodian had just finished cleaning one side of the men's restrooms so my partner got a super clean experience being the first one. There are picnic tables on-site; some are covered while others aren't. Plenty of trash and pet waste receptacles. The doors are heavy but the attendant on-site can be called on for assistance according to the posted sign.
Great area to rest at. Came at night and bathrooms and parking lot was clean.
Palm trees and some trash cans. Also restrooms and crepe myrtles. Small elderly grandmother with a venom t-shirt, pretty dope.
The Rest Area at mile marker 122.5 westbound on I 26 just outside of Columbia SC is quite nice. The entry and exit is a single lane landing strip style characteristic of smaller rest areas. Cars pull into slanted parking spots on the right, and there is room for about 8 or 10 trucks end to end on the left side. During the day it is not crowded. However, at night, there may be thirty five trucks lining the sides of the road and entry and exits. Its nearness to Columbia exacerbates this. For non-commercial travelers, there is an extensive wooded area with roofed enclosures for picnic tables and grills here. The restrooms are very clean. Cudos to the staff. And if your dog needs to go, its a nice area near a stand of pine trees. And its not a bad place to have a blowout on a big rig either!
Very friendly staff and extremely helpful! Clean facilities and a safe environment. Kids could play and picnic. Flat tire situation at this rest stop and it was a pleasant experience!
For truckers, please be aware this is a very small rest area with very limited parking. Not an ideal place to stop for your 10h break. Especially later in the afternoon parking is almost an absolute no go. Other than that, it's an okay place say for cars to stop.
Always clean & dependable, great dog walk area with potty bags & trash cans for cleaning up behind your pup!!
Very clean and offers good seating to take a break and enjoy the weather. Bathroom was clean!
The only reason I am giving it a one star is mainly because of safety. This rest stop does not have enough lights at all in the parking area. I had to use my the flashlight on my phone to make it back to my vehicle.
Always clean when I've stopped. No issues!
