This is one of the best physical therapy offices I have ever been to. As a former dancer, I know my physical therapists. This time around, I had foot surgery and needed to figuratively and literally get back on my feet. Elaine listened to my concerns, and she went right to work. She was gentle but firm. Elaine also wasn't afraid to think outside the box. She has an excellent understanding of how to treat the injury from a medical standpoint AND also be holistically tuned in to how to the rest of your body is responding to it. She knew I was eager to get back on my feet so I welcomed all her exercises and massage techniques, and I was able to get back to work in three months. Everyone in the office is fantastic - professional, kind, and thoughtful. I highly recommend!
I have been a patient here twice over the past few years for two separate issues and have walked out feeling a complete healing, mind and body. The first was for my shoulder, which I injured while swimming during the summer. The team taught me so many new daily adjustments not just for my shoulder but throughout my daily routine from desk posture to what type of hand bag would be less stress for my shoulder. Physical therapy with them was a tremendous success and they worked very well with my insurance! I am back now for a totally new issue but the holistic, non-invasive approach is the same. They are kind and gentle but more importantly they listen and pay attention to my body. I cannot say enough good things and recommend that team enough - they are so in tune and love what they do it makes going to physical therapy actually very relaxing!
Foram and Yadi are the best! I broke a small bone in my foot after running a race and after I healed, I developed a pain in the side of my foot. My podiatrist referred me to I-OM and it was the best decision I could have made. Foram gave me practical, targeted, do-able exercises all rooted in Yoga. Instead of loathing PT, I grew to love it! The exercises are built into my daily workout routine and I am finding it is the best part of my day. Not only is my foot healing but I am learning how flexible I am! I recommend I-OM PT to anyone, even if you're not in pain!
I am SO SO SO happy with my physical therapy at I-Om. Both of my therapists have been incredibly passionate and knowledgeable- and are solving my problem neck pain and headaches quickly. I have seen so much improvement and look forward to my sessions! I honestly feel so lucky to have these therapists working with me and I would highly recommend them to anybody.
I came to I-Om physical therapy for an ankle sprain and received excellent treatment addressing this injury as well as other physical issues as they arose. Mary is gifted at healing on physical, mental and spiritual levels. Foram is excellent, as well, clearly having an in-depth knowledge of anatomy. Everyone at I-Om is friendly and welcoming.
It’s been 2 months since I started going for my ankle sprain and results are very promising. Relaxing environment, friendly staff, personal attention and advises to incorporate in your daily routine for fit life is what you find at I-OM. I would definitely recommend to schedule next appointment there and ask for Foram as PT :
After years of physical therapy, acupuncture, massage treatments, personal trainers, chiropractors, Rolf'ers and more, I was beginning to accept that I may spend the rest of my life in serious pain. I had essentially given up and started to take pain medication on a daily basis. I came across I-OM on Yelp and Google. They were close to my office and accepted my insurance. I was in a great deal of pain that day, more so than usual. They got me in to see me the very next day. What I found were a group of therapists who work hands on and spend an incredible amount of 1 on 1 time with their patients. There is no rush. If anything, I'm usually there longer than I expected to be because they are never satisfied until you leave feeling and moving better than you did when you came in. They TRULY care. Mary Elaine is my therapist there. She was able to diagnose my many issues within the first 10 minutes. It was incredible to see her work. She truly understands how the body is designed to function and even the most minor details in the way you move or breathe will tip her off as to what the true cause of your issues can be. My only regret is that I am not a better writer and I don't have more time... because no amount of praise is ever going to be enough. They will change your life for the better as they have for me. Thank you guys so much. I look forward to seeing you all every week. In the end: if you want to feel better, go see them and feel better today.
I've been going to I-OM for over a year and want to express my gratitude for all they've done. It's hard to summarize, but I had two main experiences here: 1 Ongoing physical therapy to recover from dance-related injuries to my wrists and ankles, as well as lower-back concerns from just too much sitting in an office. I worked with Foram, and the results were just fantastic. Each time I came in with a new injury, they would use a combination of body work, e-stim, heat pads, exercises, and ultrasound in order to promote healing while also quickly allowing me to continue dancing while in recovery. Foram is so personable, always has a big smile, positive energy, and is willing to talk to you for as long as you'd like, whether about her methods, injury prevention, or just life, travel, and dance. Typically within 2-3 sessions, the pain of the most recent injury would have subsided, and within a few weeks would stop flaring up altogether. 2 In addition to dance-related issues, I was suddenly stricken with Bilateral Vestibular Hypofunction, a disorder of unknown origin that affects the inner ear system. It's rare, and the most recent peer-reviewed journals suggested that a recovery may not be expected, and any recovery often takes years of therapy. Now, I'm a pragmatic person who believes strongly in evidence-based policy and currently an empirical economist. However, Foram suggested that I speak with IOM's owner, Mary Elaine, about her healing work. I had had one experience with Mary before that multiple previous therapists had misdiagnosed an injury around my thumb causing "shocks" up to my elbow that Mary literally diagnosed accurately within about 10 seconds. So, I was willing to listen. Mary does energy healing, and also recommended me to an acupuncturist in Chinatown. Given Western Medicine's poor predictions for recovery, I was willing to try anything. For about 6 weeks, I couldn't walk in a straight line gait imbalance and my vision would bounce up and down when I walk oscillopsia causing the simple act of walking outside to be nauseating. Over those six weeks, I had almost no progress. I began the first of what would be 10 acupuncture treatments. On the day of my 4th treatment, I had a session with Mary in the morning and acupuncture in the late afternoon. When I finished both, my body was utterly exhausted, and I went home to crash. The next morning, I woke up and the oscillopsia was reduced by at least 30-40%. The day before, I would have to literally stop walking in order to read street signs, but now I could suddenly read signs by just slowing down a bit and not having to stop fully. Over the next 4 weeks, I recovered almost entirely -- but the first sign of any recovery was stimulated by this dual appointment. During Mary's energy healing, I was not primed with any expectations, and so there was no potential for placebo effects. I'm not going to offer any expectations here in order to do the same for others. I will say that I had real physical sensations during the process, and the timing of my recovery is too tight to be coincidental. In the words of statistics, if you were to run an interrupted time series model, there'd be a strongly significant positive coefficient on Mary's work. In sum, for both regular injuries occurred during the course of life, and for disorders where Western Medicine may offer less-than-stellar options, I highly recommend giving I-OM a try.
They personally tailor their treatments to each patient with a unique approach that focuses on healing the body as well as the mind. I leave each session feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Definitely the best physical therapy I’ve had!
Excellent PT team. Professional, knowledgeable, educational. I went for athletic injury, experienced mind body connection as in Yoga class. Pleasant, positive atmosphere with thorough teaching of habits needed to avoid future injuries. I highly recommend.
