If I could give a rating less than one star I would! Our family had a really bad experience at this hotel. At the end of a long day of traveling we took our two young children to the pool to swim. An older couple came into the pool and started telling our children they needed to be quiet and telling them to shhh! My kids were not being loud but this old couple couldn’t handle the noise my kids were making while playing in an enclosed pool! It echoes like crazy in the pool room. The couple then left and came back with the manager and they kicked us out!!! I have never been kicked out of a hotel pool before. This hotel is not family or kid friendly and I will be steering anyone away from staying here! I was willing to look past the black mold in the bathroom and the mildew smell that hit me when we first walked in the room. Our experience at the pool was the icing on the cake! This hotel is the worst! Anywhere else would be better!
We spent one night at the very nice & comfortable Fairfield Inn & Suites in Idaho Falls. The hotel, staff and amenities were all excellent. We did have one problem that the front desk ended up handling for us because of an inconsiderate, selfish and thoughtless dad & 2 kids. When we went to use the Jacuzzi just before 10pm, we were surprised & thankful that it was open until 12AM. There was 1 family 2 children & a dad there in the pool. "OK, great." We just wanted to soak our legs after a long day of walking. What we did not expect or appreciate was the constant screaming and shrieking from the kids in the pool. We get it that kids just want to have fun. We were taught to be kind and respectful of others as well. You can have your fun, just don't prohibit others from having theirs. Talking to one another in the jacuzzi sitting 4 feet apart was impossible due to the constant screaming noise. We asked once w/just a finger across our lips, saying "shhhh" and "could you please keep it down?" The dad replied "the kids are just having fun." "OK, well, we can't even talk, and we'd like to enjoy our time in the pool area also." It was a total blow off after another ignored request to tone it down some... We decided after 10 more minutes of "you don't matter, only WE matter attitude," to leave the pool and jacuzzi. I told the dad that he was surely not setting a good example for his children to be thoughtful, respectful and considerate of others. What a poor example and teachable moment. It is these kind of people that think it's all about them, and no one else's space, concerns or wishes matter. Sadly, we all are seeing more of this "me before thee" attitude, and I think it's because of poor parenting that doesn't instill in our children respect for others. I can't even imagine when I was a child and 2 other adults asked us to please take it down a notch or 2, and we basically ignored their request. So disrespectful, inconsiderate and rude & it would not have happened without serious consequences from my Dad! His final words to us were "have the front desk ask us to quiet down and then we will." So we did, and the front desk could hear the noise also, and went to quiet them down. Well guess what? The dad was very upset see his one-sided review...!, rude to the staff, and wrote a scathing review on this hotel. To their credit, the staff put the well-being of "all" the paying guests, not just one rude family, as their main concern. Bottom line: The leadership team at the Idaho Falls Fairfield Inn & Suites Hotel follows the Golden Rule, most of us were taught growing up: Treat others as you would like to be treated. I highly recommend this very nice hotel to spend your time in Idaho Falls. Don't be fooled by a self-centered and thoughtless guest's review... look at the majority of all the reviews!
The hotel itself is good. Good location. Fairly clean we did have a hair in our tub/shower. The temperature control in the room was not good. We didn’t sleep great because we would wake up sweating and then the air would kick on and it would be perfect for one minute and then freezing. Almost comical. Daughter said she couldn’t sleep - woke me up and everyone has their covers kicked off. Then I woke up when the air kicked on and a few minutes later everyone trying to get covered back up because it’s cold. Needless to say, we are tired.
As a Titanium member working my way to Ambassador I stay at the Marriot Bonvoy hotels. I've never wrote a review but fell the need to with my stay at the Fairfield in Idaho Falls, Idaho. You know that saying, when it rains it pours? I was traveling and couldn't find my wallet and it was check out time so I phoned the front desk who was nice and told her I'll call her back. 5 minutes later I get a call from the Operations Manager who shouldn't be in that position. She was yelling at me and told me 15 minutes to vacate the premise. I tried to explain the situation and told her I don't appreciate her tone with me and she said she was going to call the cops. As I'm packing my belonging heading to the elevators there she is with the cops and they had nothing to say. I looked at the cops and the look on their face was pure annoyance. I'm sure they have better things to do. Michelle O'Brien is the Operations Manager who should be fired for her behavior. My next step is to report her to corporate because this is not acceptable and something needs to be done. I ended booking at room at the Spring Hill Suites and the experience was EXCELLENT! Don't bother with Fairfield if you want a good experience. You know what they say, "Attitude reflects leadership."
We had a great stay, good night sleep, great room, good shower and a little breakfast. My favorite once again, are the people. Thank you Balee, Savanna, Brandy as Brice. I WOULD RECOMMEND
The friendliest staff I ever have encountered in Marriott hotels. They went out of their way to show care & respect. They deserve recognition. Great location, great room, good breakfast. Stay here when in Idaho Falls.Rooms: 5/5
Room was great. Coffee carafes and creamer carafes constantly empty in the morning. Breakfast more limited than normal. Front desk was vacant 95% of the time. No bottled water and limited snack in pantry. I would have mentioned to the front desk but no one was there.Rooms: 5/5
Very nice stay - convenient location across from hotel - longhorn Steak RestaurantRooms: 4/5
