It was better than I expected seeing that it was a little smaller online. I liked the outside music making devices a lot. The inside is mostly mental activities. My daughter wanted to run and play on a playground, but it’s not really made for that. Lots of interesting crafts, artwork and educational interactive activities. The robot exhibit was really cool. My daughter just was too hyped to just look at stuff. The play area is designed for children 4 and younger. But my 5 year old went in there and enjoyed it. The play area is great for toddlers. The first thing that bummed me was not accepting the employee exchange admission program. We went to the Phoenix Children’s museum the day before and it kind of pales in comparison. Still a cool place to get the children’s brains going.
The IDEA museum is always a great idea. I know cheeky but really whether it’s little ones in the play area to big kids learning about robots and stem, guys this place is fantastic for all the kiddos. Definitely geared towards 12 and under but worth the experience. Also don’t forget socks if you want the littles to play, but if you do you’re in luck they sell cute ones at the front.
Awesome place! My kid loved it and could have stayed all day. Every literary turn reveals ingenuity and innovation! Great location for mental exercises.
My toddler loves this place! We enjoy the play area immensely. The layout is designed in a way where you can have some privacy with your kiddo various themed rooms, but also created a lot of interactive spaces for socializing with other little ones. For example, my daughter played in the kitchen area with another little girl like I've never seen before for a good 30 minutes! Very clean, very organized; the darker lighting is calming for the youngsters. The other section of the museum is designed for older ones and extremely engaging, offering great flexibility. We became members immediately, which also gives you a discount at the natural history museum nearby. I am thrilled to bring my family here and appreciate its inclusion of little ones that are 2-3 and under.
I love taking my toddler 3 and baby 1 to the IDEA museum every week membership is worth it! They have a space, called Artville, that is perfect for toddlers and babies. SOCKS REQUIRED, but you can buy some there if you forgot yours I think like $3 or something. Unfortunately and fortunately, that space has limited capacity. Limiting capacity is great when you’re already in Artville because it doesn’t feel crowded, but it fills very quickly during the week and there is a long wait. When I arrive within 30 minutes of opening, I’m able to get in, but there was a day when I arrived at 10am and couldn’t get in. I left for lunch at 11:30 and my waiting number was 34 and they had barely called 22. Basically, don’t count on Artville if you’re late or arriving during the busy times. The rest of the museum is great for young and older kids too. They have a craft station and various exhibits. It’s small and perfect for those couple of hours you need to kill and get out of the sun! Oh and they also have these little seats in the bathroom so you don’t have to put your baby on the bathroom floor while helping your toddler go potty! Wow!

This is my second time coming to this museum and I think it's incredibly unique and great for interaction with the little ones. Unfortunately had a bad experience this visit as my 1 year old was extremely shy the first time, this time she was so excited and roaming . I made sure to come within the last hour for the safety of her as there weren't many children. An employee was walking and carrying a conversation while looking backwards and trampled my daughter. I know these things happen in places like these but for it to happen so carelessly my daughter could've been hurt. Otherwise this establishment is a great experience as long as we are conducting safety measures.
Absolutely love the IDEA museum! We got the membership and go about once a week. My little3 years old gets super excited when I tell her that it is our outing for the day. Sometimes Artville fills up and we need to wait to enter. Not a problem for us though because the other side has so many activities to keep us busy. We normally take a lunch box so we can enjoy more time there in the Snackery. Busiest times seem to be 10am-noon. Once lunchtime hits it starts to thin out. We typically spend 2-4 hours here. Having an indoor space away from the house to play, create and explore in an educational way is very important for our family. And the staff is super friendly and helpful!
Big fan of this place! Great sage space for kids of all ages. Single day cost is very reasonable and memberships are a great value. Perfect location for enjoying local food and shopping before/after too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
For $9 a person it's totally worth it. My kids have a blast. Nothing is really over the top or super spectacular but it's a nice, cool place to enjoy during the summer! Location is easy to get to and parking is free.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
