IL SOLE

My Wife and I came here on Valentines Day this year. I was looking for a restaurant we had never been to before. Italian food sounded good, and by the photo's on IL SOLE's Google listing it looked pretty decent. As we arrived, we noticed it was in-between a Rite Aid and a Carl's Jr... Not that great of a location for what I thought was going to be somewhat of a "high end" restaurant (Especially since I had to make reservations). We gave it the benefit of the doubt anyway. As we walk in, it looks mediocre. The pictures on the listing give this place A LOT of justice. We got sat at our table, and some stoner-hippie-looking server greeted us. He was so unprofessional looking and sounding, he told us the Lasagna was "hit or miss"? (How can you screw up Lasagna?) He proceeded to be very awkward with the other tables he was serving. He was a weird dude. But we ordered our food after 10 minutes of being sat, and were expecting to get out food within 20 minutes or so. OH NO, IT TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR FROM THE TIME WE ORDERED TO GET OUR FOOD... We were going to be late for our movie if they didn't hurry up. I couldn't handle it, so I decided to ask for a manager. But they tell me that there's no manager on duty? On Valentines Day...? I told the guy I wanted him to comp our food, and we will pay for the wine, because we were going to be late for our movie, and everything was taking WAY too long... He agreed and comped our food. My wife was so upset as we left, she just started crying. I feel like IL SOLE sort of ruined out Valentines Day. We were both very upset with the whole experience. My wife called back later that night to see if there would be a manager to speak to, because we just wanted to give someone a little bit of feedback about our experience. The guy who served us answered the phone and told us HE was the MANAGER. We stated that he was absolutely not a manager because he was just serving our table not even 2 hours ago. He then handed the phone over to the "owner" while whispering "some b**** is calling in to complain"..... Long story short, we spoke to the "Owner" he said he was in the back cooking and he was too busy and blah blah blah. He was a nice enough guy. BUT I WOULD JUST AVOID THIS PLACE ALTOGETHER! It just sucked to be honest.

Best Italian food in Utah. Weston is great! The food is always incredible.

You probably wouldn't expect it (especially after how many different restaurants have filled this space over the years), but the Italian food here is very good and has an authentic flare. It is amusing to hear some Latin American music and see Latin American decor while you eat (probably left over from the previous restaurant). The prices are reasonable, the service is very good.

The whole restaurant smelled like the bathrooms Pretty overpriced for the sub standard quality of food you get. The atmosphere is ridiculous. Rainbow rope lighting and tin foil decorations. I wouldn't recommend this place to a starving homeless person.
