Just ordered the chicken tikka masala and shrimp masala. Very disappointed. The flavor is bland, sour and the masala was very runny. I am wowed by the masala as it is a pink coral color instead of orange. I ordered naan which is always my favor part of any Indian dish however, it is thick, not crispy and very pizza dough tasting and had no taste. The restaurant is beautiful but I Wish I got my money back.
I ordered lamb biryani, it was completely trash, just a box full of rice with only 1 or 2 pieces of meat. Food was trash and quantity was not worth the the price. A BIG NO NO. never going to order here again
I’ve been ordering from there for at least a couple of weeks, multiple times a week and it’s perplexing how EVERY TIME the food is ROOM TEMPERATURE warm, not hot. Do you guys cook it in the morning and leave it out at room temperature? There’s no other explanation why it wouldn’t be hot. Even the Naan is room temperature. I’ve been giving you the benefit of the doubt for too long, you lost a customer at this point. COOK YOUR FOOD WHEN ITS ORDERED OR AT LEAST HAVE THE DECENCY TO WARM IT UP!
We have ordered from here a few different times and the food has never been good. The gravy in curries is very watery and the paneer pakodas seem old or stale. There is a lot of room for improvement and I hope the quality gets better.
My friends and I ordered medium and spicy curry but we did not even taste any spice which was really disappointing. The appetizer Pakora was pretty good.
Everything was delicious. The appetizer, minced vegetables in a kind of pastry wrap, was very good, but it was the Chicken Vindaloo that was wonderful. Cubed chicken pieces with potato done in a tomato based sauce over long grain Basmati rice. I asked for medium spicy and it was perfect. Make sure to order some Naan for soaking up what remains of the sauce. This place should have been busier than it was, even in Indianapolis. On a Monday.
Ordered thru UberEats and not only was the food cold but was awful. We wanted to give it a 2nd chance because we love Indian food but this was the last. Then when we called the restaurant to talk to them about it we got hung up on. Never again .
No idea why the place has just 4 stars... Absolutely BEST Aloo palak ever eaten! Very gentle and delicious food. Really good Hindu and Punjab restaurant! Definitely recommend
I wish I could leave 0 stars. I will never return. Disrespectful owner yelled at me over the phone, and when I asked him to calm down because I was not attempting to be rude or to argue, he hung up on me. The issue: India Garden states on google that the restaurant closes at 10 pm, so I ordered a meal for pick up at around 8:30 pm, and didn’t intend to pick it up until close to 10 pm on my way home from a meeting — who cares if I want to order at 8:30 and not pick up until 9:55/10–it’s my prerogative. And, I obviously assumed based on google that the store would be open until 10, as advertised. The owner called me yelling at 9:30, stating that he was going to close the store at 9:45, so I needed to pick-up the order immediately. I politely reminded him that google states that the restaurant closes at 10 pm, and he yelled: “I don’t care, no order stays here past 45 minutes! We are closing at 9:45!” and hung up the phone. Two things: 1 India Garden closes at 10 pm, not 9:45 or whatever other arbitrary time you feel like choosing that day, per google. This needs to be corrected immediately. If you close at 9:45, say that—do not say you close at 10. 2 It is India Garden’s NOT the customer’s fault that the hours are incorrect on google, so stop being rude and yelling at customers because you were too lazy to update your store hours. I will never eat here again, and will always share my experience with anyone I meet. Good riddance.
First time here. Service was low-key and professional, ambience / music appropriate to a quality Indian restaurant. Naan bread outstanding. I was offered a level of 'heat' for Chicken Vindaloo which was a classy act. Basmati rice was excellent. Chicken Vindaloo was awful.....chicken pieces had clearly just been thrown into an ultra-thin sauce which made the 'Chicken Vindaloo' part almost pointless as the rice just soaked up the moisture from the sauce and made the entire meal a mash of soaked rice and chicken pieces. I won't be back, and not just because I was visiting from another state! You have other choices for Indian food in this city.
