Excellent Indian food in St. Paul. We tried the Tandoori for 2 medium spice. I like hot food, I could have eaten it hotter, but it was just right.
Amazing! Had the tandoori dinner for two did not get a picture of the full sampler platter since we ate it so quickly and it was phenomenal! Our server Raj was so kind and helpful. Recommend to anyone who loves Indian food or is trying something new
One of my favorite restaurants in Saint Paul. I have been frequenting India House for over 4 years. The service is excellent and the food is consistently amazing. On my most recent trip, I ordered close to closing time yet still the people working were welcoming and the food tasted fresh and fabulous. No matter what you order, don’t forget to ask for mint chutney- you will not regret it!
Stopped in for dinner and were so glad we did! Raj was one of the most attentive servers I’ve had in a long time! We ordered Onion Pakora recommended by Raj, Garlic Naan and a Chicken Tikka Masala which was enough to fill the two of us up. You get a literal mountain of rice and I was worried the entree would be too small, but it was just enough! All the food was fresh and delicious and thankfully Minnesota spicy though I’m sure you could notch it up if that’s your thing.
The food here tastes like it's made with love and is full of flavor! The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and very spacious. The gentleman wait staff was welcoming, patient, and prompt. Great service, amazing food, perfect portions, and nice atmosphere. Only 2 very minor things that could use some attention, is the wear on the booth furniture and the unattractive green plastic baskets the naan is served on. Vegetarian options: Delicious variety of vegetarian options.
I've eaten here multiple times, with okay experiences. That being said, the experience I had yesterday was downright embarrassing. I placed an order online roughly around 6:20PM, the system said the food would be ready in 25-30 minutes ~6:50. I arrived early as I was already in the area and when I walked in, there were upwards of 6 people waiting for take-out orders. I completely understand the dinner rush and how unforgiving customer-facing service-based jobs can be, however. Many of these people including myself actually received notifications that our food was ready for pick-up, with that not being the case. I and another customer ended up receiving our food at roughly 7:40, almost a whole hour after it was supposedly "ready" according to the ordering system. The cherry on top was that as I was waiting, more people who had placed take-out orders starting coming in, and the gent at the front desk saying "your order will be ready soon" to them. I can understand that orders can flood in and things can be delayed, what I can't understand is the sheer lack of customer service. If you can't at the minimum manage expectations, or even just a "sorry, we're doing our best", then what the hell are you doing? If I had known how long I really would be waiting, I might've considered other options. I did not expect a partial refund, or any extra goodies thrown into the order as does happen at other restaurants in which orders get delayed, but I did expect a better attitude from the front-of-house. 5 minutes time of an upper-employee to say to customers who have been waiting for 40+ additional minutes "hey I'm really sorry, thanks for being patient" can make a world of difference to a customer's experience and subsequent feelings towards an establishment. You're welcome for the lesson in customer satisfaction.
Fantastic food and service that keeps bring us back in. I personally am a big take out guy I like watching tv and eating, sue me however it is always such a pleasure to come in here. The staff are friendly and Singh always takes great care of us. The food is great but our service experience is exceptional
Great Indian cuisine! I have ordered takeout once and dined in once - both were great experiences! Service was so kind and welcoming. Food was phenomenal! Will definitely go back!
I’ve been coming to India for 15 years. It is one of the best restaurants in town with excellent service. I came tonight after many years away and it was even better than I remembered. Mr. Raj was outstanding. He was very attentive and gracious. The malai kofta was to die for. Will be back soon!
They will never let you down here. It's one of my go-tos for Indian, especially dining in. it's just so relaxing, the servers are gracious and kind, they have the big Indian lagers that I love, and it's consistently delicious with whatever you order. I do the Paneer Tikka Masala everytime. This last time, they really upped their naan game. They do mild for my Mom, and for one of my friends when asked how spicy she wanted her food, she responded "I want to be crying while I eat it," and they absolutely succeeded. They did great during the Pandemic as well so hats off to them for the last 10 years I've been eating there. India House all the way.
