Signed up for IT certification courses through Ivy Tech via WorkOne. They can grant pretty much anyone up to $4000 worth of state funding for approved training courses/college classes. I went to WorkOne multiple times and was usually the only client in the building of dozens of employees. Seemed like the office is actually over staffed with little to do, so you'd think they'd be on top of their game. Sharon White (Workforce Development Specialist) seemed helpful at first. I made an appointment, brought all requested documents that was required and signed up for the certification program. Sharon told me she had everything she needed and to just wait until closer to the semester to start and I'd have to take a drug test etc. A couple months later Sharon randomly messages me on Facebook of all places, saying she's been trying to get ahold of me. I immediately email her within 20 minutes (which she had my email already from emailing back and forth through the process) and give her my contact information again. She responds and says she couldn't get ahold of me and there's nothing she or her office can do to assist me with the classes at this point. I already enrolled in the classes with payment pending, so I had to drop the classes 2 weeks before semester started. I emailed her back politely asking what happened, my phone number and email didn't change, what information did she use to attempt to reach me. Sharon never responded or returned my calls. Seems like I was simply just forgot about, even though I was one of the first people on her list for that semester. Sharon made a mistake and refused to respond to my inquiry about possibly starting the whole process over. Unrelated to the issue with Sharon. Every Workaone office has a "trained" Vet Rep that is suppose to offer multiple services to veterans with employment resources and assistance. They even have what they can help veterans with plastered all over their walls via advertisement posters. Their Veteran representative was not helpful and only would speak to me if I was a disabled veteran. I called to make multiple appointments and he avoided me and I finally just went in and he came to the front, didn't offer me to his office and pretty much said he couldn't help. Save the headache and drive to one of Indy's WorkOne offices. They're actually helpful, the workers actually do their jobs and give you all the resources the taxpayers pay them to do.

wouldn't even give it a half of a star but no option for that .... you get told several different stories and that one so called boss Sheila is hateful and rude ... they do not help convicted felons , only help the ones they like .... I would rather starve than deal with the lies they spill !!!!

Seems like every time I call no one answers the phone. However when you go into the office they are never busy.
