Intown Atlanta United Methodist Church
Inman Park Church is an historic congregation with a 21st Century outlook in the Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta, two miles east of downtown. IPUMC is an historic church that is located in Inman Park, Atlanta’s first “garden suburb.” The congregation dates from 1866. The church building was dedicated on April 17, 1898. It is constructed of Stone Mountain granite and was designed in the Romanesque style by Willis Franklin Denny, II.
Inman Park United Methodist Church has stood in the role of “Mother Church” to many undertakings in Inman Park and beyond. Emory University, Emory University Hospital, Epworth UMC and Druid Hills UMC all have roots in this church. Today, Inman Park United Methodist Church is a vital part of its community. Its walls shelter both a diverse congregation and its community neighbors. IPUMC is a place of warmth, fellowship and devotion.
