Inside Moves LLC

Ever since the new owners took over the vibe is completely different. Perhaps the more advanced climbers like it just the same, but as a recreational climber, I don't like all the changes they made. The number of available routes is now much smaller and there is a huge jump in ability levels between the different routes now. The last time I was in the newly placed mats that cover the entire floor now (instead of the mats you could place under where you were climbing) had an invisible gap where the Velcro was supposed to connect, and my foot found it and I twisted my ankle worse than I have in fifteen years. I had never been injured like that once since I started climbing over ten years ago.

Fun place. Take the kids or meet up with friends. Have fun exercising.

Lots of variety for all ages and levels of expertise. Good size area, staff is wonderful and helpful to beginners. Would highly recommend.

It is great that we have a place to climb in Grand Rapids, but the facility is in the process of being upgraded. I like that the new owners are trying to improve the look of the gym, but I hope they stay focused on the climbing experience. Hopefully Inside Moves can find their niche in the community instead of trying to be something they are not. Added note After posting the review they reached out looking for suggestions for improvement. I appreciate the engagement and added a star.

Inside Moves recently changed ownership to Higher Ground. The name remains. Cons: Small gym Reachy moves if you're a shorter climber Pros: Floor padding has improved Route setting has improved Incredibly fun way to exercise
