Incredible hotel, complete with all the luxury you expect with the Intercontinental name. The Gin parlour is top notch, as is the service throughout the experience of staying here. Conveniently located, you will be able to reach many of the top destinations in the city with a short walk.... but you may not want to go out at all, as the rooms and furnishings (and the beds!)will likely swallow you up into a state of pure relaxation.

Stayed at Barclay during a weekend visit to Manhattan. Convenient location in midtown. I personally love to walk around in Manhattan so this hotel was in a nice central location. Room and accommodations were great. Got a high floor corner room upgrade as a IHG medallion member. While I didn't go to it, the hotel is well known for its Gin bar in the ground level. Rooms are pricey but not over the top. Will likely stay again when I go back to Manhattan.

We stayed for two nights and were not disappointed. All staff was friendly, courteous, and responsive. We ordered in-room breakfast and, while pricey, it was very filling, tasty, and well presented. Additionally the building is very aesthetically pleasing and quiet. It's been awhile since I've stayed at a hotel and I found the use of RFID in the room card interesting - it was even required to use the elevator at certain times of day, so that was pretty cool.

Since the renovation in 2013, this hotel has become awesome. Great staff, great showers and fantastic location. This hotel is one of the best in New York and one of my preferred places to stay!

Very nice hotel, I've stayed multiple times and never been disappointed. The location is also nice as while you're right in midtown & walking distance to most anything Broadway shows etc it is not tourist crazy like times square location...
Tip: if for some reason you're driving a few blocks east of the hotel on 48th is a reasonably priced icon, I dropped my rental car to the location when coming into town and noticed the parking rates there were about $40 cheaper than hotel
