He's an okay doctor, but the nurses are very rude.

Sorry I am using my fiancé FB...why? Because that's who happens to b logged in for the moment and I'm beginning to get sick ... I have been a patient at the clinic THIS doctor joined after it relocated from Summersville to Charleston. I am a New Life patient and have been for going on two years. I began my recovery road under the care of DR Priddy who was remarkably down to earth, just getting by and getting treated unprofessionally ..in the end she left with a hefty salary she well deserved but was withheld because she wouldn't give in to private owners that capitalize off other people's miseries...ADDICTION!!! Dr Gaal you have always been so good to us and when first meeting you we appreciated your zeal, your expressed views concerning capitalism vs patient needs and all patients are individuals and need different kinds of treatment, meds, amounts, etc. You were the doctor and you were going to give each and every patient what you thought was the right protocol for them....and then you gave a little in to get something else met for whatever reason and Jeremy explained to me that sometimes you must bend a little for the greater good... yada yada... well why must it b that way doc...I no have have had good bouts in the program as well as several slopes but you r my doctor and you control if I'm worth helping and making well so I can live a somewhat normal live and b as productive as one can be in this era...I don't want anything from you now doc and my words doesn't even matter because I am nothing, an addict, and I do not matter, I am the perfect reflection of one in the bowels of our society.... I just want you to know I believed and trusted you and I am certain, almost certain I am hurt more because I can not look u to you or tell myself he really cares about me as a human being than any physical thing that awaits me in the days ahead... no big white horse people, no and she, they live happily ever after, and the worst is... our heros, the ones we look up to and strive to keep faith that someday I'll b alright because this person is going to help me find my way back to myself will lead you into the beginnings of hope filled dreams, then in an instant cast you back to the demons they promised you would never have to damce with again... please doc I will never post anything again, I will withdraw from the program I've put two yrs into, and I want nothing from you doctor to patient now...I just want you to think about why you became a physician and why you chose to begin treating addicts...I hold a small gleam of light for you in hopes that money, respect, notoriety, and power over peoples wellbeing only held a minute consideration for you in yr reasoning... I'm so irate at you but damn it be the good, caring doctor you are and don't treat us chemically to ward off those nightmarish physical pains and withdrawals we go through when we've taken a medication for two yrs every, single, day then in a breath take it away and leave someone to that hell you'll never actually know or feel but can only read about and never fully know the experience... thank you for caring about me this far and I'm no one to cast stones at glass houses or calling kettles black...you can and will save a few doc if you don't turn yr back for whatever reason when they stranded somewhere 17hrs away with state issued insurance that isn't worth the paper it's written on...if we were in parallel universe and I held your life, yr wellbeing in my hand with the flick of my pen I would never turn my back on you... actually I'd do whatever I had to do to help you....I'll b hoping you someday happen upon here and see this...a single word can change the world doc...

Doctor Gaal is an amazing physician. He is not my internist, but I'm a patient of his in Charleston where he also specializes in alternative medicine. Doctor Gaal has a wonderful bedside manner, he's very personable, and extremely attentive. I've been seeing him for two months and I'll honestly miss him when I'm completely well and he releases me from his care. The relationship between a patient and their doctor is very personal and not to be taken lightly. Unfortunately alot of doctors in WV have extremely large patient loads due to the fact that there is alot of illness that plagues this region. Im a patient at a practice that has an association of Medical Doctors, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. The only complaint I have is that sometimes I may not always see the same person depending on scheduling. I just moved to Hurricane from Cross Lanes. I've been doing some research in the Barboursville/Huntington market to find a primary care physician that would best suit my needs. like I said toward the beginning of my review the relationship between a patient and their doctor is a very personal one, also it's equally important to research before making a choice. If Doctor Gaal had a Primary practice in the Charleston area I would definitely choose him as my internist. I had the opportunity of living in Nebraska (renowned in healthcare and healthy living) for a year. That opened up my eyes to the overall way I look at healthcare & personnel. In closing, I view Doctor Gaal as an incredible asset to to the medical community of WV. If you live in or around the Ripley area I would definitely take the time to call and schedule a consultation if his office is accepting new patients.
