Interpreters Unlimited, Inc.

I signed up with agency as a freelance interpreter. Did my first assignment on Oct 24th and still haven’t been paid for it on January 3rd even though their payment terms says 30 working days. They keep offering excuses and blaming postal service. They are rude, unreliable and have no personal support for associates. Scheduling system is a joke.

This company hires interpreters and pays them the bare minimum. Sometimes they would assign the interpreter 2 appointments back to back so that they only have to pay for one appointment. That may be the reason that its staff is unreliable as the Dr's comment stated.

I am a doctor that regularly needs interpretation services for non-English speaking patients. Unfortunately I have found this company to be inconsistent at best in providing reliable interpreters. Some of the problems I have had include interpreters not showing up, showing up 20-30 minutes late, someone other than the requested interpreter showing up, staff refusing to help me schedule for an interpreter, etc. Overall things work fine about 60-70% of the time. It's the other 30-40% that have caused so much frustration that I have stopped using their services. I tried to report these problems to their operational manager (Laura) but I am still waiting to get a response back after leaving several messages and waiting several weeks.
