Discovered this park about a month ago. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences until today on one of the lesser used side trails. "Campers" left a big pile of toilet paper, my dogs got into it and it is totally disgusting. I'm assuming someone was hiding out or sleeping in the woods and using them as a bathroom. I'm now extremely reluctant to go back. Has this been a problem in the past? Horrifying experience.
Such a cool experience, very well constructed. Love the bird houses!
Lovely little neighborhood park with a network of trails, some of which are rather muddy, all of which are pleasantly navigable. We're at the end of poison ivy season, but I didn't see any turning leaves even, which is excellent for walking with kids. Biodiversity is a bit lacking: I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never seen that much privet in one place. So. Much. Privet. Otherwise quite nice.
Nice walking trail. Another nice DeKalb County improvement used by the community. Can be problematic post a hard rain..slippery.
Ira B Melton is great, as long as you know what to expect. It’s not a formal park with paved paths, benches, etc. It’s more of a tiny urban wilderness area crisscrossed with trails and and creeks. It’s very swampy, so expect muddy spots on the trails. Like most undeveloped areas inside the perimeter, it’s thick with invasive plants and trash from decades past, but it looks AMAZING compared to 10 years ago.
Loved the trails here.... shaded and beautiful! !!
Loved it here peaceful and beautiful scenery!
No concrete trails until it connects to Mason Mill Park
Great trails, and perfect spot for the pup to splash in. We had a great walk here, and it was short but beautiful! Went along the Creek and also got some Forest in.
Nice paved trail in North Druid Hills. There’s no parking here, so go to Mason Mills Park 5 minute drive away and walk here.
