Great bar to unwind. Excellent selection of drinks. Pool tables and dart boards in the back.
They hosted a small Christmas party in the back room for my family, they could not have been more accomodating. Very friendly and the drinks were flowing. Very happy to see an old neighborhood staple still going strong.
Awesome safe place. Spanish , black ,white or Irish -- all are welcome! Positive vibes! Drunk bullies and people that can't handle liquor are not tolerated.
Fantastic bar for rugby matches. It’s difficult to find pubs that will put on the rugby in Brooklyn, but I’ve been able to see the Six Nations, Autumn Internationals, and Summer Internationals here, and I plan on seeing RWC 2023 here too. They also put on GAA and hurling as well as soccer. Great staff and service.
Fine bar but I was mistaken for someone who had apparently caused problems at the bar and was denied entry. My friend and I were paying/tipping customers and were not allowed to enter despite being sober. That’s one star material to deny walk ins based on mistaken identity
Oldest Irish bar in Brooklyn. Owners are great. Depending on the time of day you'll likely get a diverse crowd. RIP Charlie
What’s not to love old Boston pub feel in charming Sunset Park Drink up lads
If your Hispanic your not welcomed. Save ur money elsewhere.RACIST!! It’s disgusting. & the Bartenders are rude. This place deserves 0 stars
I never would've seen the inside of this bar a sunset park holdover from the olden days, if my alcohol-loving friends hadn't dragged me here... :-D Am glad I showed up that night for drinks - and banter - at the Irish Haven. We were greeted and served our drinks by a friendly bartender Steve? and learned that the back room - furnished with a pool table - was featured in The Departed movie... There is a good selection of beer and liquor, and a jukebox for your musical entertainment.
Great service, am from and live in the neighborhood but 1st time went there ordered an Irish car bomb and the socially inept barkeep said he doesn't make that. Odd, peculiar. This time got an old favourite and barkeep was on point, will return...someday. Returned to the joint on what appeared to be a NYPD gathering, only realised after nursing my Guiness then having to wash my hands. It's a Sunset Park joint and we respect and appreciate the 72nd. The joint was open for business and the cultural exchange, memorable. Still haven't noticed 30-40 yrs old clients, the joint is classic Irish in Brooklyn. Happy they're a part of my community.
