Originally went here some 20 years ago. It still looks good though some areas need improvement as they look a bit tired and dated. Otherwise this Masjid was open in between prayers so very handy for a traveller.
Great architecture. Well situated. You need to find parking for your car in the surroundings if you want to visit.
I’ve been wanting to see this for a while now. Absolutely stunning. It was open in between prayers which was convenient. Gorgeous tiles and writing.
A Good Place for Muslim Prayers but due to Car Parking spot and Prayers Timing you will missed your prayers. For Qatar FIFA WorldCup 2022 Qatar Spending 290 Billion Dollar to Organize the WorldCup 2022 but for the Masjid they Don’t have to buy a land for Parking and to hire a good management people. So Sad, Sad. As per the Poor Management of Communication, and Other Related Departments for Social Media Prayer Times Tables and Publishing a good Contents for Islamic Communities even there are multiple Islamic Embassies hub near to the Islamic Center Mosque.
The bathrooms are gross, what can be said more?! The pictures said it all. I already posted my review on Google somewhere else. I wonder what does the facilities management committee do?! I have been to this center last week in a visit to D.C so I stopped by to pray Thuhr. The center is in the heart of the most important city in the U.S where international delegations from all over the world are. I was excited about the center and it’s nice, old Islamic architecture. Unfortunately, the inside was another story. The ladies bathroom, for example, was so dirty, so messy, and seems unmaintained for ages. Only one sink to wash standing, water access was a disaster. There were unnecessary dirty items everywhere, even inside the women musala there were pictures in front of the worshippers. Lightning was not functioning as it should. The floors are wet and dirty. Some of the limestones and walls were visibly broken. The place needs a huge renovation just to make it presentable. You represent 1.7 billion Muslims in the world in the capital of America. It’s not a choice to be negligent of such an institution, it’s a must towards the religion of Islam. Start working now!
A beautiful building, a small-medium size mosque, not a big one. But it's a piece of art from the inside. Totally worth visiting. People of all faiths and no faith are welcome to visit. Would recommend not to wear shorts inside, both men & women should dress modestly. That applies for everyone who enters the mosque. Totally recommend visiting it. And they neighborhood where it's located is nice.
Beautiful masjid with lots of intricate interior designs! Has a good sisters' area as well alhamdulillah :
Located in great place. Seems there is influence from Turkey Architect. Wonderful place
Loved this place!! The architecture made it seem as if we were in a different country altogether. But it went beyond that! The jumah khutbah was inspiring. The people were friendly. And they serve meals for free after Friday prayer is over. It was so serene, So peaceful. If I lived in DC, I would be there as often as possible.
I drove 40 min from VA to attend the Jumaa and enjoy the spiritual architecture that so many spoke about. I ended up in a dark and prison like basement room for women! They were cooking fish and the smell drove me back up. I asked the admin to allow me to pray inside just like the times of the prophet when women and men sorted themselves together in one space, I was told that I am not permitted. In the Capitol if diversity and inclusion and in where women are sisters of men in the country of liberty, a form of sexism exist that is not even part of Islam and only old baggage brought upon us form centuries of distortion of real Islam and the way of our beloved prophet where women prayed, spoke to the Imam in Jumma prayer and consulted and taught in mosque as sisters and equals. I feel humiliated and my intelligence insulted. Not only that but a huge over 30 women tourist from Indonesia came as I prayed outside in the lawn to pray and see this building and they were also told off and asked to go down. They all went and came back again deciding not to pray and do their prayer in a hotel. I spoke to them and the tour guide was disappointed to not be able to bring this group inside and having to tell them off from their spiritual aspirations on this sacred Friday. I am so disappointed. How well this old traditional rotten culture drove our modern Muslim student and. Young Gen Z? the young American Muslim does not need the middle eastern old schools of cultural indoctrination to tell them what to do, they will find their own choices among other religions or create a decide between them and the community and all because we refuse to change!
