I was going to have the standard Portuguese Carne Alentejana but got sidetracked by the specials board. 1/2 Rack of Lamb with Shrimp and two sides for $18.95 could not be ignored. The shrimp with garlic was cooked perfectly. I must admit that I dipped the bread in the garlic oil! The rack of lamb ordered rare was perfectly cooked and really tender with a nice char on the outside. For my sides, I settled on Portuguese fries and rice. I have found that the rice is usually surprisingly good. The table service from the bartender was pleasant. Seems it can get loud in here when they are busy.
The best food. The best service. The best people every time.
Wonderful service. Good food quickly. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The food and service are top notch. Espresso martinis are best around. Their steak of the house uses that Portuguese sauce and I crave it pretty often. Then they got that scallops wrapped in bacon appetizer, I usually order like a dozen of them, they are perfect. For a date grab the flaming linguica, it's pretty cool with the dish and effects. Give it a try!
Service was excellent. Food was superb. People were neighborly. Like Cheers but better.
Really good and authentic Portuguese fare. Portions are very generous.
I had high hopes; heard good things from others, however, I got takeout and ordered the fisherman platter with fries for $18, only to get a fillet of haddock, 2 scallops and 2 jumbo shrimp. The fries were under done, unsalted as was the rest of the meal. My friends also ordered meals and that was also not to taste. So disappointed in this place!!!
Recently had lunch here with a friend of mine.. I had the Caldeira Seafood Stew. Such a flavorful dish with scallops, shrimp and fish. Plenty of it. Took some home. Food is always very good here. My buddy had the lamb shank and I had a taste. Also very good and more than substantial portion. I, without reservation, recommend IV Seasons for the food and service.
4.65 stars For the last decade I've gone here every March for their corned beef and cabbage and it is SO good. Wouldn't expect a great Irish dish from a Portuguese restaurant, but it is seriously that good. most everything I have gotten here has been very tasty. Reminds me of home cooking. Small cozy bar with Keno! Prices are fair and you leave satisfied every time.
Absolute worst lunch decision I've ever made. I work in downtown Lowell and I've always wanted to try the food at 4 season because I love Portuguese food. A coworker was looking at the menu online and the steak looked good on their website, so I figured let's try it. Three of us ordered and I went over to pick it up. I needed separate transactions, and was rudely told by the waitress that they didn't do separate bills there, and that they had an ATM I could use. I said well there are two different people buying food can't you just ring them up seperately? She replied you can use the ATM or just tell me how much is going on each card EXACTLY. I stood there for like 10 minutes before the waitress even came back to ring my order up. The meals we got were $9.50 on the website, and we were charged $17 per plate!!! Got back to work and the food was terrible!!! Bland, no taste, and certainty didn't have any Portuguese spices. So not only was it the worst lunch, but it was the most expensive and over charged lunch I've ever had. If you are looking for good Portuguese food just go to Friends on Market St.
