Expensive chocolates that are better than Belgian chocolates. Compared to Gearharts however, Jacques Torres chocolates are a lot more sweet. Cutting down on the sugar a bit could potentially make the chocolates tastier. The drinking chocolate is rich and decadent and also comes with sugar. They had run out of whipped cream at 645 PM. The employees are not so knowledgeable about the products in the store, in general. We bought an assortment of 12 chocolates that set us back by $27 - pricey for sure.
The place is nice and cozy and recently they have added the Chocolate Museum and Experience here where you can see some interesting stories about chocolate and its development, as well as the importance of chocolate back in the past. With fee entrance, USD 15 and youth USD, you can enjoy all those stories and exhibition as well as some demonstration and samples of bonbon with ganache filling and hot chocolate. A nice experience we have here.
Love the chocolate here but was a little frustrated when they don’t sell tiny boxes unless I buy 10. I told the lady that a small bag of chocolate will probably get crushed in my luggage but she said there was no way to get me a small box. Following strict policies and that negatively affect the customer and being unpleasant at the same time. Bad combination. Still the chocolate is good.
Had to try this after a pizza meal. Had the ice cream and bought chocolate. Both great. $6 chocolate bars. Mocha, chocolate and coffee flavors. Highly recommended.
As a life-long lover of chocolate, getting to make chocolate candy myself was such a fun and unique experience. We had a little mix-up with our class, but Chef Chris came through for us and made it such a fun and delicious event. We learned quite a bit about the history and process of making chocolate and I appreciate the demonstration showing how chocolate was originally made and the amount of work that went I to making a cup the old-fashioned way. The hands-on experience was the best though and I have a new found respect for chefs that work with chocolate. The amount of preparation and planning needed to make working with chocolate possible is amazing and the fact that the stuff is cooling and hardening as you work with it makes it a race against the clock. We never felt rushed though and Chef Chris was incredibly patient with us and made sure we had fun and that we walked away with more chocolate than we could have imagined.
Wonderful ambience and culture/history of chocolate. Great for kids and adults. Saw a few different demonstrations for chocolate. Beautiful store after walking thru the museum. Can't wait to go back.
The chocolate is so yummy! Great service and atmosphere.

The best hot chocolate and best cookies in New York City. Perfect for a winter day.
We took my daughter here for the chocolate making class with Jacques Torres himself. I knew he was a nice guy on TV and figured he would stop in say hello and take pictures and that would be nice enough. When I tell you this man spent well over 2 hours with us I'm not lying! Forget the fact that I came just to accompany my wife and daughter and her sister I wasn't even doing class. I had my 7 month old son with me and was just going to hang around and wait. He invited me back to join the class free of charge. This man is pure class and a genuine person. Mr Torres made my little girl's day she was so excited to meet him. And damn that chocolate we made was good! I met him one time but if this guy ever needed my help I would jump for him! He makes you feel like family thank you so much. All his staff were great too we will absolutely be back!
