Jake's is truly the best. What a neighborhood spot - they have almost everything you could need for last minute, great beer, coffee, ice cream, snacks, propane tanks, lotto tickets and friendly service. I have to say every experience I've had there has been a great one! Go to Jake's and support the neighborhood small business!

Prejudice??? This is RIDICULOUS!!! SEVERAL people of different nationalities have worked there! This is my neighborhood store I go there several times a week often more than once a day and I have never experienced anything but Kind , Friendly and Courteous behavior from every different employee that has worked there since it has been Jakes. It is a Pet friendly establishment as well The owner manager allows employees to bring their small dogs to work there and I really like this policy. The few different dogs I have encountered there have been absolute sweethearts. Prices are very competitive and variety of products is superb. Racial discrimination is alive and well. Went to Jake's to use the restroom and get gas on our way out of Portland. I was with my friend who happens to be of mixed race. We walked in and the only person working, a lady with blonde hair, was in the bathroom. So we were waiting outside the door which said "customers only". Lady walks out and looks my friend up and down, walks past her while rolling her eyes and obviously judging her appearance, and tells her the restroom was for employees only. I replied with, "oh, well the sign says customers only", and she, annoyed, handed over the key. It was apparent in her mannerisms that she did not agree with my friend's appearance and did not wish to let her use the bathroom. We ended up buying a pack of gum and leaving.

Great, clean gas station with friwndly employees. Locally owned, plays good music outside.
