I love their oxtails! They’re always very tender and flavorful. The rice and seasoned well and the cabbage is some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner is always very nice and welcoming, as well as the other workers.Food: 5/5
First time customer, I ordered a large curry chicken, rice & peas with cabbage. As far as the portion of the food good, they give you a lot!! For the price it's great. Curry chicken taste like it has too much cinnamon or nutmeg and was very salty, wasn't able to really taste the curry! I thought the cabbage was good and also the rice and peas just a tadbit spicy rice and peas. Service was stupendous!!!
Service was awesome, and they were very friendly. As for the food, I wish I could give a better review. The cabbage wasn't good at all. Not seasoned and very watery. Oxtails was decent to me, but very little for $26. The plantains were sweet, but not cooked long enough. I will try them one more time, but staying away from the cabbage.
Average-Sub par compared to other Carribean places in the area. With the limited menu and just okay food, I left feeling a bit disappointed. I got the Jerk chicken with rice and beans and the Jerk Chicken wasn't spicy at all. The chicken portion was also a bit small but for the price, I guess the smaller portion makes sense. The rice and beans weren't seasoned either and since the jerk chicken sauce was lackluster not bad, just not anything special, the rice and beans left more to be desired. I also got the beef pattie with coco bread, which was okay but also lacking the spice and flavors I crave in a beef pattie! I ordered take out with a group and the consensus was that the plantains were good, while the oxtail was just okay - I didn't try either of these myself though. The staff friendly, but was I bit turned off by the fact that they were eating and using bare hands while preparing our food. Maybe this is normal? It was hard to miss here because you can see their entire setup just from standing at the register. Overall, I only tried this place because Delicious Dishes was closed and the ratings looked good, but I probably won't return.
Food looks good. My oxtail was unbearable to eat. I think it’s the sauce/gravy that was salty until I bet into the oxtail. Everything was just so salty I tried adding hot pepper to take away some salt but it didn’t work. Just wasted my money. The plantains and cabbage were good. That’s it.Food: 1/5
New menu item jerk chicken cheeese steak one of the best I ever had over hereFood: 5/5
food so good i almost ate the damn plate!!! and it’s good priced too. 16 for a whole thing of goat and it’s a lot of it! easily feeds 2 people. and keeps them full. def going again! edit: i went back a couple months ago and i forgot to update, but it was mad people in that joint that day and this one man said something smart to another person who came with me. i was reluctant to go back, that was a weird day. it’s usually only one man in there..
Yea those fried plantains are dry af and the rice too. I got the veggie platter and drinks came to $13 plus $2 tip, that’s just me. I wanted to asked to use the restroom but nothing looked cleaned…nor did it look like they had one for public use, btw you have to ask for gravy or cornbread nothings complementary here.
The food is amazing. Being from Jamaica and living in lauderdale my whole life you can’t get any food better I’m this part of New Jersey They had a special on a Caribbean cheesesteak and red pea soup I asked about some mannish water and the owner took my number down to let me know when they will have a pot available Top 5
This Jamaican cuisine is the best in south Jersey. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and highly recommended. Check out my fellow shottas. Reminds me of me granny back In Negril
