If I could give a 0 I would. Mac and cheese and cabbage was so bland. The rice was okay but could improve and the oxtails had no meat on it. & I got a Large and it only had 4 oxtails in it. My large looked like a SMALL! Was so disappointed. I read reviews before I went but I thought i would still give it a shot. Never again! I would definitely pick any other Jamaican restaurant over this. Shaking my head! I was so disappointed.

First and foremost, their food is decent; it is nothing special but gets the job done in terms of if someone is craving for Jamaican food without having to travel far in the Bear, 19701 area. However, that is not why I am giving this place a one star. I am not one to post reviews but seeing as last night was the second time that I have had to hang up the phone from being on hold for way too long (10+ minutes) while having to listen to the woman behind the counter chit chat/completely ignore me on the phone waiting for her to take my to-go order is enough. The woman behind the counter has the WORST customer service. Unless you are stepping inside the store to order your food, anyone who wants to call-in for a to-go order...good luck! I called last night to place an order for 4 of my friends who were visiting from out of town. A woman picked up the phone, placed me on hold over 8 times—without putting me on mute to chit chat with anyone who walked inside the restaurant (putting them before me even though I had called 8 minutes prior). She would then get back on the line, ask me what my order was, I would get in two words and she would put me back on hold—again—without putting me on mute so I could hear everything. After 10+ minutes of being on hold so she could laugh with a customer who just walked in, I hung up the phone. Moving forward, I will drive the distance to get Jamaican food instead of having to deal with their poor customer service. I hope the owner takes these reviews into consideration and adjusts the customer service because if the poor customer service continues, it will fall down as it is such a shame for a place that is not even a year old.

Food portions (especially the meat) must improve on the jerk chicken and oxtail dinners-far less than comparable orders at D&H or OB's (Wilmington). However, the flavor/taste is pretty good-at least better than D&H. The callilou is also a nice addition regarding sides I don't see at competing restaurants.

I love the food from this place, have yet to receive something that was not wonderful and very Tasty. Very courteous staff. Have taken my family there and they also enjoyed the food. Ackee and Salt Fish with ground provisions on Saturday mornings are just AWESOME.
