Do not, under any circumstance, go to the Kentucky Eye Center...I wish I could give zero stars. Dr. Matthews is an antiquated, rude, and impatient human being. His bed side manor is the most horrible I've ever encountered. If he can be rough with someone fighting brain cancer then he can be rough with anyone. I wouldn't let him near anyone else. He should have retired years ago because he's obviously a miserable, resentful person who doesn't enjoy his job at all. The End.

Worse optimaligist I have ever been to I am 18 & I have to genetic eye conditions I have been going to eye doctor from 3 weeks old, he was late & completely and completely rude!! I will never be back to see this doctor again& I will not recommend him to anyone!!!!!! He reminds me of my alcoholic, abusive step father. If you are in need of a good eye doctor or specialist I highly recommend Dr.Music or Dr.Blackburn at University of Kentucky!!!!!!!!

I had a great experience with Dr. Matthews! He was extremely smart and explained everything to me. I was brought back to see him quickly and didn't wait long at all in the room. He listened to me and was very kind. I wish more physicians were like him! Definitely recommend. Very helpful and respected my time.

Waited way too long to be sent back, wish I would have read the reviews for this Dr. because everyone said the same thing. I only came here because my insurance is accepted

If I could give no stars I would. This Dr is a joke without a punchline. He makes numerous unnecessary appointments for people in order to charge them or their insurance repeatedly. My mother went to him and had her eye exam. When she called to find out about going back to pick out frames she was told she'd need an appointment and to see the Dr. REALLY? For frames? (A ploy to charge her insurance for yet another appointment) She wasn't told that her insurance, the same one she had for her first appointment, the one they have on file ... they don't accept for this appointment. My assumption is it's because the insurance co would catch on to the repeated visits/charges. Save yourself the time and trouble. GO ELSEWHERE!
