The place has such a beautiful view of the city. It is hard not to fall in love with this place! The staff here has been always very courteous and friendly every time I come for a visit. Some of the times, I was running late and rushing to get in, the staff remained calm and helpful, giving me clear directions and assisting me with the check-in and crossing the clearance checkpoint. I love coming here!! A side bonus of this location is that Whole Foods is just in the basement, very easy to access to. It's a perfect place to go for shopping after a concert or getting something to eat while waiting for friends.
The Appel Room is a wonderful, intimate venue. I saw Cloud Cult perform an acoustic set there, and it was so great. The room is small, so there's not a bad seat in the house. And the backdrop of Columbus Circle is simply breathtaking. I highly recommend seeing a concert at this space!
Fantastic performance and entertainment venue. Very approachable but sophisticated as well. We saw You to Ma perform; and, it was simply outstanding. Highly recommend the venue. The staff was attentive and professional.
The Appel is the best place to see a show. I see Lynda Carter every April and October
Stunning venue, fantastic views of Columbus circle and central park provide the perfect backdrop for performances. Only complaint is that at the back they have some standing wave issues which could be easily dealt with using some more acoustic treatment. Sound and lighting overall was very good.
The concerts we have attended in the Appel Room have been excellent. The acoustics are wonderful and the sight lines for viewing are good. The backdrop for the stage is unique and spectacular -- glass windows overlooking the NYC skyline across Columbus Circle.
This place is stunningly beautiful. The glass windows offer a view of Central Park and Columbus Circle. Pair that with some jazz and you've got yourself a wonderful night. The location is also small and intimate. It's really a place to enjoy music in a low key manner.
I was very fortunate to get one of the last remaining tickets for Brandon Victor Dixon's February 14th performance, singing his selection of Broadway show tunes from the American Songbook. The venue had a spectacular floor-to-ceiling glass wall so that you could see Central Park illuminated at night as a backdrop to the performance. The show was superb - esp. his arrangements of songs from the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
Rose theater is amazing. It offers variety of jazz programs for all ages. I enjoy coming here to relax and to listen to jazz masters. I would recommend is especially during jazz festivals when local restaurants offer free food and drinks before the show. Also young jazz bands play during intermission. The view of the Columbus Circle is magnificent from the 6th floor at night.
I performed there 3 times. It's got really great acoustics and has an immense view of Columbus Circle through its extremely large glass window. Seating's pretty limited, though.
