Jennifer Lee’s is a must visit for me anytime I’m in Boston. I have to go, and get many treats. I love all of her baked goods. I am not even vegan, but had to give these a try when I was roaming around the Boston Public Market. It was love at first bite. Anytime I have visited, the staff has always been so kind, helpful, and informative. I have also heard their interactions with other customers. With such a specialty bakery, of course people are going to have questions. And sometimes people can be difficult. The staff is so patient, helpful, and informative. Amazing customer service. This bakery is Top 9 allergen free, and vegan. You’ll see some negative reviews. Don’t listen to the haters. Things are going to taste different when some of the “standard baking ingredients” are replaced. This is coming from me, who has a huge sweet tooth, and many baked goods from many places. Jennifer Lee’s bakery tastes amazing. When you go to The North End, there are no vegan options for desserts. NeverMind gluten and allergy free options. Jennifer changed that. 100% absolutely recommend trying this bakery. Best vegan treats in Boston!
11/10!! The service was so awesome! Gluten free friends, everything is gluten free!! Vegan too! The desserts looked so good. It was 11 am when I went so I got a breakfast sandwich. They have vegan eggs and vegan sausage. Thank you so much for the delicious sandwich. It was so good!! I think I was talking with the owner, she was so nice!! Loved chatting with her. Turns out we have family from the same place. I’ll be back next time I’m in Boston! :
Jennifer is a life saver! I needed allergen free pies and inquired with dozens of pie shops/bakeries and she was the only one willing to meet my needs. Pies were not on her daily menu and she still accommodated my request. She even threw in an extra pie to our order for free. She was wicked nice, and the pie tasted amazing! Just as good, if not better than any regular pies I've had. Thank you Jennifer!!!
The lady that makes the cupcakes was very professional. The older woman that prepared my order was awful. I asked for a Latte, she had issues with the coffee maker and still gave me the coffee. I asked if the coffee was prepared correctly and she said yes when it was clearly not due to the issues with the coffee maker. The sandwich I ordered was obliterated. When I unwrapped it? It was totally broken apart and extremely messy. I could barely pick it up without it breaking apart. The only thing that was ok, was the cupcake. I will not be back at all. Very unfortunate because there are not many vegan options around here.
As the parent of a child with a severe peanut allergy, I wanted to love this bakery but found the items we ordered to just be okay. I hate to leave a less than glowing review but have to be honest… We bought four items two cupcakes; one cannoli; and one strawberry bar and each was pretty stale causing the textures to be off. Because of this, we did not finish any of the four items we purchased. To be fair, we came by later in the afternoon near closing and the display case was not very full. All that being said, I would try this again earlier in the day in hopes that the offerings would be fresher and therefore tastier.
Working with Jennifer is a dream come true! This is the first time I have ever truly felt safe and joyfully supported in providing a birthday cake for my child who has allergies. Jennifer was patient, professional and genuinely invested in our satisfaction with our cake. She went above and beyond in guiding us, as there are lots of great choices. The cake was delicious and our guests, who did not have allergies also loved it so much, they took home extra slices. Thank you so much Jennifer!
It's so nice to go to a bakery and no one in our family feels left out. When one member of the family has food allergies, it often feels like they are separated when it is time for a special treat. But here we all enjoy the treats together. They're delicious!Food: 5/5
Amazing vegan and gluten free deserts! I always stop here when in Boston. This time I got an apple cinnamon cupcake, and a strawberry strudel type pastry. Both were excellent, the texture was really on point too which can sometimes be a problem for gluten free stuff. Would recommend going when they first open for freshest things.
Boston is lucky to have Jennifer Lee. She works her butt off to provide people with food allergies safe options to eat. I can't fathom providing this many options that are safe from a long list of allergies. Her staff have always been cool and nice, and the brownies and cupcakes I had were amazing. Dietary restrictions: This bakery is your safest option. She's incredible with food allergies and should be the standard everyone follows. She makes Boston a better place.
My partner and I are both vegan, but she is also gluten-free, so we were both excited to find this place during our weekend in Boston. It was in the Boston Market, though it didn’t seem to note that anywhere online, which it probably should since the produce stands outside almost hid the entrance Google Maps took us to. Anyway, the woman working the shop all by herself was incredibly pleasant and sweet. We got four cupcakes, two doughnuts, two cake bars, a banana foster dish, and a buffalo calzone to-go. It came to about $57, which was average if not cheaper than what we were used to, let alone from a place so allergen-friendly AND vegan at the same time. We didn’t try anything until we got home more than four hours later, and everything was STILL delicious. I was very surprised with how moist the cupcakes and how soft the doughnuts were—things I seldom find in gluten-free treats. The icings were unique watermelon? French toast? Cotton candy? and very sweet, but if you don’t like sweet things then you probably don’t like cupcakes to begin with. We haven’t finished everything yet, but we’re so pleased with this place. Thanks for being there, Jennifer Lee, and for making inclusive vegan food while donating to animal sanctuaries, as well as paying your employees a living wage we were told $25 an hour!. Your character is demonstrated through your business.
