Our go to location for art supplies in Virginia Beach! The selection here is huge, prices are competitive and they're local. Plus, the staff lives and breathes art and are super friendly and helpful. Some things that make Jerry's a special find are they carry kiln fired clay, cotton canvas and arm stretchers in house. Come on down and give these great people a visit!
Jerry's Artarama art supply store has the vast selection of quality products that you are looking for as a student or professional artist. For me, as an artist who works in several mediums, this is my go-to place in the southside of Hampton Roads to pick up needed materials like clay, paper, or to just wander the aisles every once in a while and see what I have been missing. Be sure to join their program for additional savings when you check out :D
My husband and I venture here quite often. This is a great little place. They have all you need for your art's desire. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you find what you are looking for. You can also get your art framed in the back of the store. The last time we had something framed here, it looked awesome.
Best Artist store in the World, I could literally Live in Jerry’s and never see it all . Lastly, thank you God for putting this store close enough to visit and skip Amazon !
I had the displeasure of discussing with the manager who was particularly rude for no reason when I asked if they carried a specific brand of paint I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere if you're looking for human decency
I'm not an artist but my daughter writing with different materials so we stopped by and there was a demonstration going on so we joined in and had the best time...Staff is friendly and helpful even to a novice like us..
The manager is lazy and incredibly rude to not just employees, but also customers. I did NOT enjoy my visit to this store and would recommend any other art/craft store.
My daughter and I have found a love for painting, so we decided to visit this store from Norfolk. We looked online for brushes and paint before coming. But when came in, a girl with green hair followed us everywhere we went because we are African American. We were prepared to spend hundreds of dollars for a group paint night that we're hosting. Too bad, I will not be spending my money here.
This Saturday was my first and last time coming here. I came here to get some art supplies with my mom and everything seemed fine at first. We came in and we were greeted but as soon as we go down an aisle, an associate ask are we finding everything OK. We hadn’t even been there for one minute literally. We moved on to a different isle looking for a paint brushes and yet again we see the same associate walking past our aisle. I at first didn’t pay any mind to her but once I got to another aisle looking at colors, me and my mom were noticing that we were being followed. She came around the aisle we were every time we moved. Mind you, there were other people in the store as well. But repeatedly she was watching us and then another person working here followed a suit. We were the only black people in the store……. I will not come into a business to give them my money just to be racially profiled. Please do better. It’s 2021!! So for any of my POC out there who might be looking for paint supplies, this is not the place to go. Unless you want to be followed around like you’re going to steal then you want to look elsewhere. Very disappointed.
TLDR: good for straight forward jobs. NOT recommended for actual custom framing. Went to Jerry’s for 3 custom frames. 2 were straight forward and came out nice. On the 3rd, I asked to have the paper cut down for a smaller frame - the drawing was relatively small on a large paper. We agreed on dimensions for the cut, with symmetrical border around. When I picked it up the sides were narrower, but equal. The top and bottom border were larger than the sides, but more importantly not equal 0.5” variation on 2”-2.5” border - resulting in a vertically off center framing. I asked them to trim the bottom to make top and bottom even, which they did. When I picked it up a second time they trimmed too much and now the bottom is smaller by a quarter of an inch. At cost I paid I expected it to be right first time. Will go elsewhere in the future.
