Jim's Time Out

The diviest of all dives. This is a terrific place to catch drinks before a Bucks game! The drinks are affordable and the atmosphere is wonderfully kitschy. Make memories with friends and misplace some time in this neighborhood classic.

Best local "dive" bar in my life of 57 years!! Fox was an awesome bartender, patrons were friendliest people, prices were tremdously good. Just an awesome time. I'm from Philly, so I'm a "value" guy. If you don't like the look of the outside, ignore, because you don't know what you're missing on the inside! Perfectly safe area/place, with free street parking close by. If I'm in Milwaukee again, it'll be a destination for sure will be calling ahead to make sure Fox is the bartender.

Awesome bar! Makes me wish I lived closer so I could be a regular!! Fox and Dimetri apologies for butchering the name were the best bartenders - super friendly, quick to fill your drink, informed about the history of the bar, gave us wonderful drink recommendations and even taught us a few dice games. This will be the only bar I visit when in Milwaukee!!

I'm a regular at this bar because every bartender I've had treats the job with passion. Always a great conversation no matter the time of day. This is the best bar I've ever been to.

I gave up drinking over two years ago, so bear that in mind as I review this cocktail dive bar. Even so, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the mocktails that were made for me. Being a cocktail bar, Stella's has everything you could hope for to make a good specialty mocktail, and I saw that they even have a non-alcoholic gin if you're looking for a gin drink without the buzz. They also have a good selection of NA beers, but I was so spoiled by the mocktail treatment, I didn't get that far. I visited Stella's on a late Saturday afternoon and there was a chill, day drinking, deep conversation, grooving to good music vibe in the bar that anyone could enjoy with or without alcohol. I felt instantly welcomed and really enjoyed the dark ambiance and overall cozy atmosphere of the bar. Overall, I was very impressed with the feel of the bar. It has a certain funky appeal, yet still remains classic. They have a cute little patio with seating out back and a little reading nook tucked away in the back of the bar. I found this to be an with interesting place with intelligent bar staff and patrons, and even though it's a dimly lit dive bar, it's a clean one and not dimly lit to hide its grossness like a lot of dive bars. The bar staff kept things clean, and was masked and covid conscious. I will definitely be visiting Stella's again!

Man, I love this place. A classy dive cocktail bar, what more could you wish for. A must visit when you are in Milwaukee.

Truly a great place to go. Chill and dark. Great prices, great staff, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Young folks come here to have a damn good time. I was the old guy jealous of their reverie. Great friendly bartenders. Good loud jukebox. Funky, divey decor. Nice way about it: promoting fun and frivolity.

Awesome little spot to go downtown with a ton of awesome bartenders. 100% coming back.

While appearing as nothing special from the outside, inside lurks a cozy place filled with charismatic bar tenders and patrons. The bar tender “Fox” was funny and went out of her way to make special drink concoctions that turned out to be delicious. It was a great place to spend the evening. I will be going back next time I’m in the Milwaukee area.
