Run. Was called to ask to come audition, and was given a script to read. Got a second call back congratulating me on passing session 1 and asking me to go to session 2. I explicitly asked what the cost was to work with them, and they said all of their income is commission based. “We only get paid when you get paid”. I get to session 2 and they want an immediate yes or no as to whether I want to sign a contract and if I say yes, it’s 300 bucks down and 71 bucks a week after that. No time to consider the pros and cons, just pressure. They “needed to fill this spot” today, but when asked what “spot” they’re talking about, they have no clear answer. I didn’t even bother asking why suddenly in less than 24 hours they go from only getting paid when I get paid, to needing a whopping total of 2000 from me so that they can “market me”…..for what? Any guarantees of me making money? Of course not. The program I was shown is cookie cutter and involves a ton of “runway” classes. I told at least 3 different people explicitly that I had no interest in modeling, yet they mandate it. I want to act and do voice acting. I suppose there are people who want fame and fortune so bad that they rationalize being lied to and mislead. I understand paying for classes, but if you are going to take acting classes, why are they asking people to audition for some supposed role before even taking an acting class? Run away fast. Just go to local casting calls.
I absolutely loved my training at John Casablanca in Charlotte NC. The instructors were friendly and easy to work with. I learned so much while I was at JC. Pursing an acting career is attainable, but you have to put in the work just with anything else you want to pursue in life. If circumstances were a little different, I know I would be an actress today!
It’s a scam. No agency EVER should ask you to pay any money towards anything. What you book and make at gigs is how they make their money also. However here, they definitely ask for down payments which is absolutely ridiculous.
A very bad experience! I wanted to start a modeling career and went to John Casablancas at first it was everything wonderful until they said i would have to pay more than a thousand dollars for a “modeling school” that takes 2 years to finish after that we could get booked for a job if someone wants to work with you if not you’ll stay paying without any jobs for you, they also said it could take months for you to actually get a job. I had the worst experience ever!
First thing, I would like to say thanks to the instructors and staff at John Casablanca Center in Charlotte. I am pleased with the training that is provided to my son. The John Casablanca Center in Charlotte feels like one big family. In order to succeed in life, you have to have knowledge of whatever field you choose and that is what the center does, scout, train and help you seek work. John Casablanca does not promise to make you a star overnight, you have to put in the work in order to become a star. There are two things in life in order to make money, you must put in time and money, nothing is free. My son has gained a lot of knowledge while attending the center. If your not willing to invest in yourself, no one else will either, that is called wasted time and no company is going to put in the time if you do not believe in you. John Casablanca is not a SCAM, its about how bad do you want it. Are you willing to learn the industry in order to make it. The reasons why I like John Casablanca is because they train you and you are with them for 3 years, redo photos and even retake a class if you decide. I would like to say to all those who was interested in John Casablanca check it out for yourself , you will not be disappointed. When watching all the negative videos and reading all the negative reviews, they either never researched the company but decided to go off all the negative videos and reviews of people who display pure ignorance. Some people started and got discouraged because they stopped believing in themselves which allowed all the negativity to consume them.I am not affiliated with nor am I paid to write this review. In Life you have to not be afraid to be different.
Didn't mind the classes, but the MTM agency itself was a total complete waste of time.. Mrs. Christy and Mrs. Stephanie both said that they had me in "a lot of bookings" but never did I receive any more information of those so called bookings....
I started taking classes and John Casablancas Modeling Center about 2 months ago. When I started I wasn't really sure what to expect or was I going to get anything out of this. I wish I started earlier! From the first audition, the instructors made me feel right at home. Each one of them has a bevy of knowledge and genuinely care about your success in the industry and you as a person. The classes are very informative and hands on. I've already gotten several opportunities and I'm not even half way through the required classes. If your serious about modeling or acting, have the drive to do what it takes to be successful then John Casablanca Modeling Center is where you want to be.
I'm disappointed! My 10 year old son is extremely passionate about modeling and acting. I reached out to different agencies and JC called us back for an audition. We went, done a head shot, walked the runway and was told to come back the next day to "sign." During the presentation Janet, the director, said exact words "if an agency ask for money upfront run! They are there to make give you money not take your money!" Which gave me the impression that they were there to genuinely helped my son get a contract! The next day when we return, they asked us to pay $2,200 for classes! Wait! What! Total waste of time! These people are very convincing and nice. So please research before signing the dotted line.
I started training with John Casablanca in March of 2019, every since I've been satisfied with my training. The training helped me get out of my comfort zone. They helped me build my resume and my portfolio, and other marketing tools. The instructors and my classmates are very helpful. Overall John Casablanca will teach you everything you need to know to be a successful model/actor. THIS PLACE IS NOT A SCAM!!!! You guys need to spend money before you can make money. Also before you start posting negative reviews, CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR!! thank you.
