We purchased a set of custom Hickory stairs from John’s Custom Stairs. The lead time was great, the guys we worked with were all great…nothing but good things to say. Thank you!
I will be forever grateful to John's Custom's Stairs. Every single one of these guys were angels. My husband had a fall and we needed to get railings installed quickly in order for him to return home after a hospital and a too short rehab stay. John agreed to move up the installation and Anthony worked with me to get exactly what I wanted in short visits because I had to run up to the hospital/rehab early every morning. The work that they did, the quality of the materials were all excellent. The team is responsive with a sense of humor. You can tell that they really enjoy their job and helping people. I would definitely use them again, and can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.
I am so pleased with the work done by John’s Stairs. It was exactly what I was looking for and they did a beautiful job with Installation. Outstanding work! Thank you team!
Horrible customer service and serious lack of professionalism. I have made now 5 attempts at just obtaining a simple quote for the replacement of my stairs. No one has gotten back to me except to ask me to send pictures of my stairs. I have sent pics 3 times and I have called to speak to someone directly. Still no estimate. This company is highly unprofessional and have not an ounce of courtesy. They could’ve just said they didn’t want the job or they aren’t able to take on any new jobs at the moment. Absolutely rude on the phone as well! Just don’t use them at all!
We had a delay in getting started because U.S.P.S. lost the deposit check in the mail, but once we got started it was a quick turn around. Less than 2 weeks to build our oak staircase in their shop, then a half day to get it installed at our house. The crew that did the installation was fantastic! They left the space cleaner than they found it. Very happy with the quality of their work! The beauty of the oak staircase exceeded my expectations We would highly recommend John's Custom Stairs.
We are so happy with our steps. We called this company after another company friend tried to install steps that were torn out of our downstairs. The steps were too high and not done correctly at all. I searched high and low in New Jersey. No one wanted to take on the project. I reached out to John's after my relatives from the area said they were the best. We were contacted immediately to set up a quote. Price was very fair. We received our steps sooner then we expected. The quality is excellent and the steps themselves exceeded our expectations. Everyone was courteous and respectful. I would definitely use this company again.
I have just had a custom staircase installed in my house. John's Custom Stairs was recommended by neighbors who had used the company previously. Initially, I had some trouble getting their attention no response to a message left on the website but once I got through on the phone Anthony came and made a detailed appraisal. These guys are all about the stairs - they are not interested in the frills. Having committed, they were efficient. The installation crew worked hard to finish on time and produced a flawless job.. Very pleased with the final product.
I’ve dealt with a lot of different home service providers and John and his team were some of the best. John was extremely responsive by email. The initial estimate was reasonable and when Anthony came out to see the house they actually further reduced it. Then they got the job done amazingly fast. Most importantly the finished product looks wonderful and professional!
I have had multiple contractors come through, painters and flooring specialists...all said "whoever did this work is a professional" they noticed the small details that I never would. Amazing work and out of 3 quotes they were the cheapest! We live in South Philly and have a simple "Z" configuration. Love the yellow pine floating stairs!
They are definitely not for homeowners. If you are a volume GC or experienced flipper go ahead and good luck. They suggest some changes to make the stair narrower and yell at my contract when he opposed their idea. really rude and I have to jump in and help the communication. But since they seem more 'experienced' on stairs and indicate 'it should be fine'. I went with their advice. It takes about 2 months instead of 2 weeks to fab 3 stairs for a row home which push the schedule significantly. But when the stair did not pass inspection, THEY TOTALLY BACKED OUT. John is kind enough to offer a 5% discount to re-fabricate the stairs with them. BUT THANKS! It much cost more to get the useless stairs to the landfill! If anyone wants a free stair with oak treads just leave a message here. So you know I am no joking or lying.
