don’t eat here! I ordered mangu con los tres golpes and ended up getting 4 with the strand of curly black hair I found in my food.
At the first bite of the fried cheese, I had a feeling things were going downhill. Although the staff was pleasant, the quality of the food was not. The cheese I mentioned had been fried in old oil. I fact everything did not taste fresh at all. The fried “salchichón” had been fried in the same old oil, burnt to a crisp and hardly worth eating. The Mangu left much to be desired as well…mainly taste. I would question this is one of the “best” places to eat in the area. They get two stars for the service but not much else.
Food was delicious, I had mangu mashed plantain with red onions, fried eggs and fried queso blanco. Needles to say, is more like a brunch, big portions too. Their cafe con leche is the best and they also have fresh carrot and orange juice.
Old but very clean restaurant. It is attractive from the outside, nicely, welcoming look, but I ate inside becauis it was a hot day. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Just tríed the baked chicken.. It was Tasteless, kind of dried meat, over all very simple dishes in the buffet.. I was in the área, and I got hungry,. That's how I ended up there.
This place gives good food and good portions, great for a quick bite and breakfast.
Food was outstanding, tasted like being in DR. Service was spot on.Food: 5/5
If I could give this place a negative number I would. I placed an order for delivery worth $42. They brought me plates that had very minimal food. Each plate was about $10 each, so I was expecting a graceful amount and received little to nothing. I called the restaurant and asked for a refund and they refused. I offered to give back their food for an equal refund and they still refused. The man on the phone started acting like he couldn’t hear me once I asked for a refund. The customer service of this place was absolutely ridiculous. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING YOUR MONEY’S WORTH FROM THIS PLACE!!
Hidden Jewels of Union City! There aren't a whole bunch of Dominican Restaurants in Union City, this one is my favorite. The service is very pleasant even if just ordering a Café con Leche. Prices are super reasonable. You can pay with card $7-$10 or more; I forget the exact amount. Buffet is good but obviously for any buffet you don't want to eat it just hours before closing. Note: I think many things ordered off the Main Menu are taken from the buffet area. Breakfast is filling, delicious and reasonably priced and although Breakfast is supposedly only served until 11, I've ordered Breakfast also between 2pm-4pm without trouble. You can order for catering here as well. In all, I Totally Recommend to come here to have a coffee or eat!
Great service and delicious food. Small neighborhood place, with traditional Dominican food.
Bad first impression, the man in the front was talking on his personal phone for the good majority of the time of me being there. I ordered a bistec sandwich, when I got in the car and drove off I checked my food and it was two soups. He gave me the wrong order. Maybe if he was paying attention to his job instead of being on his phone I wouldn’t have to drive all the way back to the restaurant and then wait more time because they have to make the sandwich all over again. Wasted my time and I’d most likely order from somewhere else next time.
