When I first found Josh Blumental Photography the company I work for was much smaller. He not only did amazing work he was able to do it within our budget. That was over 10 years ago and we are still using his unique and professional images on our website, brochures, catalogs, you name it. Since then we've hired him for other projects/shoots and he's delivered every time. I'd recommend him to any business looking for high quality unique images from a photographer who is genuine and a pleasure to work with. The only thin I would have changed would have been writing this review years ago. Thanks again!
Josh visits Los Angeles and you can usually find him through K9 Loft in Pasadena! Josh took some amazing pictures of our Siberian Husky. I had been admiring his pictures at K9 loft in Sherman Oaks for some time. I often see emails that he's doing sessions here in LA and decided to hop on one of them as a gift to my boyfriend. We took our Siberian in on a Sunday and Josh got some really incredible pictures. He was personable and fun to be around for the hot sweaty session and Vox did great. We just ordered our pictures. I've already recommended him to a friend to contact to get pictures of his little girl taken.
I was super impressed by Josh's portfolio online but the thing that really sold me on using him was talking to him and meeting him. He has a way of getting people to open up and get unique and awesome photos. The shots he took were awesome and get comments all the time. For years we've used other studios around town but no longer...now their shots seem boring and plain. I would highly recommend going to Josh!
BUYER BEWARE! We spent $100 for a 1/2 hour shoot with Josh. Prices are not made available until after the shoot. Which are quite astronomical for a 1/2 hour, 1 outfit shoot. We negotiated with Josh as we only wanted 7 of his photos. He told us he would work with us on pricing, because the $2000 he was asking for full resolution files was unrealistic. After offering him a fair price for 7 photos, he complete changed his tone and said he didn't want to work with us. He locked us out of his site, requiring a $20 fee to view our pictures, and he has not returned my emails. In my opinion, he is not professional. I would use Mitch Meyer Photography, who offers a 1 hour shoot, with 2 changes of outfits for $200.
Everyone who knows Josh, knows he is an excellent photographer. What a lot of people may not know, is that he is also an excellent mentor. His mentoring program was an incredible investment for my photography business. It may have been a better investment than my camera! Not only does he educate on technical skills with photography but he gets into the nitty gritty of organization and business structure. Feeling unorganized, I was beginning to get overwhelmed with my client base picking up as quickly as it had. Small things began to surface that were hurting my business and I had no idea where to start. I had remembered seeing his mentoring section on his website, so I traveled back and decided to enter the program. Best decision I have ever made. After only a few short weeks, my business is running more efficiently, and I am able to focus my time on marketing, building rapport, and expressing my creative energy. There is not a single online class or college program that can give you what Josh's mentoring can. If you have been considering any of the above, I highly suggest stopping your search and giving Josh a call. You won't regret it!
Josh does amazing work. He captures the essence of the people he is photographing. Each year, he does portraits of the kids at my son's school, and they come out amazing! Not your standard portrait - unless that is what you want. But everyone can do those. Josh is a cut above the rest.
After receiving several spam messages from this person, I tried to contact him to remove me from his mailing list. After several childish emails from him personally, berating me and telling me that it wasn't his problem, he has decided to decline from removing me from his list. In our last communication, he decided to send me a childish picture of someone's head up their butt. This show's his complete lack of professionalism. I would reconsider doing business with him with his lack of professionalism.
