As a result of my wonderful experience working as a caregiver for Joyful Companions, my life was unexpectedly enriched, and I referred dear family friends who enlisted their services. I’ve had the honor of working as a companion for Joyful Companions for almost 2 years. Their care of families, clients and companions is compassionate and faith-driven. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and responsive and works very diligently to provide the clients, caregivers and companions needed resources which may enhance the lives of all involved. I used Joyful Companions to care for my partner who had early stage Alzheimers disease. They were recommended to me by the local Senior Linkage Line and I couldn't have been more satisfied. This is a stellar organization and the caregivers they hire are top notch. They were always on time, caring, creative and well trained. Anytime we used a new/different caregiver, one of the administrators would accompany them to the house to be sure everyone was comfortable and to answer any questions. One of the caregivers went out of her way to take my partner on many fun outings. You cannot go wrong if you hire Joyful Companions. I feel so lucky to have found them.

Working at Joyful Companions has taught me so much and helped re-orient me toward values of faith and service for other people. It is a rewarding and deeply moving experience to work with and alongside both clients and the office staff. I began working at Joyful Companions thinking that I would be "helping" others, when in actuality, my elderly clients taught me a great deal about life--and helped re-orient me toward what matters. It's an odd paradox of this work, that I went in thinking I was going to be the "helper" when, in actuality, the work becomes this graceful dance of being present with each other and each person becoming tied up in some mysterious, mutual garment of grace. If you are interested in working with others, learning more about the world, and learning from and serving wise elders, I strongly encourage you to inquire about working at Joyful Companions. It will be a memorable, transformative experience. It was for me. Additionally, the office staff and overall organization of this group is superb. They use an efficient phone-app, regular phone contact, and frequent trainings to ensure that caregivers are always informed and supported. It is a well-run organization that supports its employees and is always improving.
