As Executive Director of The Down syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte we are so grateful for our partnership with the Junior League. They have gone above and beyond to support and volunteer for our Buddy Walk event to ensure our participants have an amazing experience. We are looking forward to working with them more in the new year.
Junior League of Charlotte provides so many great opportunities for members to developed their leadership skills and participate within the community. I’ve learned so much about organizations throughout Charlotte who were started by or have been a partner of the league for many years. JLC offers a great chance to get involved with the community and develop skills that easily translate outside the organization.
Being new to the city of Charlotte I wanted to meet people but I also wanted to volunteer as well. The JLC provided a way to do both! Almost five years later I have not only met some wonderful women and volunteered with some great organizations, but also gained great personal and leadership skills. I have definitely grown since joining this organization! I would highly recommend the Junior League of Charlotte to anyone looking to improve personal or professional/leadership skills while meeting like-minded women. Additionally, the JLC Building is a great place to attend and host events! Check out the events page on the JLC website!
I recently moved from Los Angeles to Charlotte and had the incredible opportunity to join the Junior League of Charlotte. From the moment I joined the organization, my experience has been nothing short of amazing. This organization has not only helped me find my place in a new city but has also provided me with incredible opportunities for community service, inclusiveness, and fostering lifelong friendships.
I have been a member of the Junior League for a few years now but just last year moved to the Junior League of Charlotte JLC. This organization has helped me develop leadership skills, give back to our community and truly be able to find my place somewhere new. When moving to charlotte I didn't know anyone and JLC not only gave me friends but also gave me a sense of belonging. I highly recommend JLC to all females who want to help build their own story in a fun way while having other strong women support you.
I have been a member of the JLC for 8 years and when I joined the Junior League I thought I was joining for more women/friend connections. I didn't know the invaluable leadership experience I would get. I have participated in a leadership position every year and I have been able to parlay that into promotions at my work. I also DID get tons of women friendships and my best friends to this day are in the Junior League. I can't say enough good about this organization and what it does for women!
“Empowered women empower women.” I’ve been involved with the JLC since 2018. The Junior League is a non-profit organization open to women of any background to join together and build upon their leadership skills, find volunteer opportunities, network, and most-importantly…make lifelong friends! My experience has taught me so much over the last 5 or so years. If you’re on the fence about joining, come and check us out! I want to highlight the hard work the JLC has put in for the community over the last 98 years! Right now the League’s focus is centered on Children’s Mental and Physical Health. The Junior League of Charlotte currently partners with the Charlotte community to ensure that children from kindergarten to fifth grade have support and access to mental and physical health programs in priority areas of Mecklenburg County. This includes the Kids in the Kitchen initiative, Read Charlotte, and The Relatives to name a handful of organizations impacted right now. Additionally, we have a lovely, historic space made for entertaining. Our JLC Building hosts events for both members and non-members alike. One of my dear friends had her bridal shower at the building and loved it. We’d love to meet you! Come and join us for an event soon.
I am a provisional member of the Junior League of Charlotte and it is everything I was hoping that it would be. I am making friends and getting involved in my community - and having a great time. I highly recommend Junior League if you are looking for the same things; we are a cool group of Charlotte women. Also our building is so pretty, especially the courtyard!
After seven active years with the Junior League of Charlotte JLC I have entered my sustainer era. The seven years I spent with the JLC were full of personal and professional growth that positively impacted the Charlotte community. I met amazing like-minded women who have become lifelong friends. The JLC equipped me with leadership skills and I credit the League with my ability to confidently present with the various opportunities provided. I will say what was said to me when I was thinking about joining a JL I transferred from DC -- you will get out what you put in. Give 100% and you will get 101% back from the League. I am forever grateful for the JLC.
I joined the junior league to meet people since I was new to the Charlotte area and this organization has proven to be a great way for me to feel connected and support an amazing local initiative. The mission of the league is great and there is so much potential to develop and grow professionally in a role at the junior league. I’m so glad I made the investment into this organization!
