Mission

Our original mission hasn't changed much since we wrote it in 2011.

Junket helps:
1. We make it easier (and fun!) for our friends to be ecologically sensitive consumers.
2. We help high quality, used goods reach people who appreciate and enjoy them.
3. We help the environment by reducing waste (by reinserting items destined for a landfill back into the product life-cycle, thereby contributing to the global reduction in demand for newly manufactured items at a community level).
4. By modeling these behaviors, we help others understand and reduce their own negative environmental impacts - and their waste - as well.

Products

1- 100% secondhand-sourced products appropriate for gift giving, daily use, waste reduction, visual interest, and the creative process.

2- thoughtfully customized/remanufactured goods and materials for any/all of the above purposes.

3- services that make it possible for our customers to improve/embellish/repair/refresh things that already exist and/or that they already own

4- educational services that empower and support our community members in making better environmental choices.

5- strategic messaging intended to help our community
a- adapt to planet-sustaining behaviors and
b- find humor in difficult circumstances*
c- move quickly through unexpected change, and
d- support their own networks in all of the above

*We have learned that when life gets painful, using profanity can be a highly effective palliative strategy (even in the darkest of circumstances, it's hard not to get an inside-giggle when dutifully reciting mantras like 'namaste motherfucker').
