Just Shades in New York City has been a staple in the lighting industry for close to 40 years.

Made from paper, linen, pure and synthetic silk, sheepskin and mica, our shades can cover the tiniest sconce, the grandest chandelier, and any floor or table lamp! Select from a range of shapes including rectangles, squares, ovals, octagons, drums, and A-lines. We also offer Lamp Finials to add elegance and grandeur to your lamps. We also offer clips to attach your new shade to your lamp. We offer custom work and cater to the trade as well as the retail clientele. We can cover an existing shade or customize a size.

Our shades are available in soft-sided or hard-backed forms. A soft-sided shade is a more traditional look with fabric on the outside of the shade and lining on the inside of the fabric. Soft-sided shades are either pleated or stretched. A hard-backed shade is either paper or fabric that is laminated or backed onto a card. Harding-backed shades are used more often in modern settings.

I was looking for a lampshade for my floor lamp. I bought a shade not to mention the place and found that the shade did not fit properly and returned it. When I went to "Just Shades", I was in awe. So many different sizes, colors and styles. I fell in love right away. I asked for a certain shape and was given what I asked for. The shade was perfect for my lamp. The gentleman that assisted me sorry, I did not get his name is the kindest most patient person I ever met. He helped with pricing and showed me what I wanted. I recommend "Just Shades" because they are true at their art. I love my shade. Yaaaaa, for "Just Shades".
I went to Just Shades to replace shades that came with my vintage lamps. My first choice was all wrong, so I returned them, and the staff at Just Shades was incredible. Patient, good humored, and worked with me to find what turned out to be the perfect shades. If I ever need shades again, this will be the first and only choice!
Wonderful selection, great customer service, beautiful, well-made products. I have shopped for years at Just Shades in Manhattan, and more recently, online. Consistently good experience. I always go to Just Shades first when I need any lampshade. Highly recommend!

Little secret, they also do a first class job on upholstery at a fair price with quick turn around
I looked at every shade store in the ny area - they are the best. The hardware is beautiful - I did not get a cover - and their selection is great! They let you take home samples so you can try them out, that being said, they are rather expensive but I'd use them over and over again if I needed!
This store has very high end products and the staff knows how to help you select the right shade for your lamps. If you have lamps that you particularly care about dressing properly, I advise you to go to Just Shades to get the right thing. We have a couple of antique lamps that are now so beautiful with the shades that we purchased at Just Shades in Manhattan.
I have been purchasing shades from Just Shades for many years now. The shades are for 2 living room lamps. I always get the same shade--pleated silk. As one set dries out over the years I simply replace them. Thank goodness Just Shades still carries this item. I only use the living room for weekends when the bulbs burn for about 12 hours a day. I estimate the life of these shades is 12 years. I recently bought a 3rd set of replacement shades which means I've been a Just Shades customer for over 24 years!!
I would give Just Shades FIVE STARS! They have an incredible selection of shades and are very helpful in deciding which shade would be most appropriate for a particular lamp. They are really customer-oriented. I especially recommend Joan, who is a legend for lamp shades. Stephen Kelly Kelly Gallery
Just Shades provides the best lamp shades for any need. Not only is their product excellent, its easy to work with their staff to provide quality lamp shades to our clients. A true pleasure to work with from start to finish.
The blinds look and work great. However, the instructions were less than adequate, there were definitely parts missing or the instructions were meant for some other installation. That was kind of frustrating. We figured it out but it wasn't thanks to the included instructions.
