We chose to have our wedding here and are so glad we did. When we first toured Drexel, I fell in love with the architecture and history of the hall. The price to book is very reasonable and was perfect for our budget. The review on here complaining about having to set-up/break down yourself is silly, because you know that ahead of time when you choose to book here. For us, we had enough family and friends who were available to help that setting up and breaking down ourselves was no big deal at all- it saved us a ton of money and gave us more creative control. There was plenty of parking for our 150 guests, and many guests enjoying using the outdoor space, especially later in the evening. Chelsea is mostly who I communicated with over the last year and half through this process and she is wonderful. At times, correspondence with the hall via email or mail can be a little slow, but they are a small operation and every time I called instead someone always picked up and was available to help. So glad we chose Drexel for our wedding!
This was the perfect place for our wedding! We loved using the courtyard for cocktail hour and the multi-floor setup gave a warm and unique vibe for the reception. It's reasonably priced, there's plenty of parking, and they were easy to work with.
Great mid town space with a good mix of classic style, and modern amenities. New audio and video setup, full bar and a stage with an upper terrace area for seating or photos. I've seen bands, boxing matches, wedding events, comedy shows, graduation, and fundraising events here.
I've photographed a couple weddings here now and love this venue! Very photogenic, great staff- they make our mutual couples happy and that's all that matters!
Fantastic mid sized venue. Upper floor is not ADA accessable, but the rest of the facility is. Clean, everything worked as advertised.
Attended a presentation about the Irish Center and a performance from local dancers. Beautiful venue. Highly recommend this venue if you are holding an event.
I would give it a 5 star if only they would be more understanding with returning the deposit. The hall is beautiful and I would have my party there again. I do want everyone to be aware that you most likely will not get your full deposit back so plan on budgeting for that. The deposit I paid was $1000 they returned only $600 due to the dj leaving 20 minutes after the scheduled end time which I had no control over since he was tearing down his equipment and they stated the retaining wall was damaged but in reality the bricks were only moved out of place and it took the maintenance person 5 minutes to push the bricks back. You would think this was a part of renting the hall they would expect some type of light work to be done to the hall but I guess they don’t. Overall I loved the hall but that’s the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.
Very cool event space with beautiful architecture. We had our wedding reception there in July and did minimal decorating given how cool the space is. The Irish center staff were great to work with. Only negative really was that the A/C couldn't keep up when everyone started dancing.
My sister got married here over Memorial Day weekend. She loved this space because it was two levels and the upstairs overlooked the downstairs. The booking process was easy, however some of the more important details about the rental were annoying. First of all you only have the space for 12 hrs which includes set up, the event itself, and break down. That’s not enough time to set up and break down! You have to bring in your own crew to set up, and break down isn’t even included in the rental fee. 24 hrs is a lot more appealing and customer friendly! Cleaning up is the last thing you want to worry about the night of the wedding. Secondly, it was way too hot the day of the event. It was reading 76 during the whole event! We had 220 people at this wedding reception. They said the AC was great and cooled down quickly which was far from the truth. Guests at the wedding were sweating and it was so embarrassing!! We paid thousands of dollars on a very important and memorable day and the least we expected was for the AC to work. The memories of the reception were tainted by how hot and sweaty we were. You can see in the photos us sweating and our hair wet. I reached out to the director, Nancy, and she has ignored us for weeks. If anyone is considering booking this venue for a wedding, I would strongly advise you not too. Not being able to reach the director for a month is just a reflection of what kind of experience you’ll get and how these people don’t care about you.
Great place for events. Bring your own ice and coolers though. The refrigerator is finicky about keeping things cool. On the SUPER good side is this place ROCKS on keeping the sound of a LOUD party inside. You can get as loud as you want and not get the Cops called. I checked by going outside and going to the nearest house. It was like a quiet car stereo going down the street. The balcony is great to view the event from above and have extra space, or storage. Everybody had great fun here. So, PARTY ON DUDE!
