Kat Mooney Photography

When Brian and I decided to marry, we did not think we wanted a photographer. To be honest, we were hoping for City Hall. We did decide to have a small wedding and although I love photography, I was not one for sentimentality or tradition. Good thing my mom found Kat! She was amazing to work with (funny, easy to be around - my dress slipped while she was photographing my mom and me getting ready and lets just say... she handled it like a serious pro). She made me feel relaxed and I instantly liked her. She was also extremely responsive. My JP almost didn't make it due to the flu, and she responded to my panicked emails within minutes. And the best part? I absolutely LOVE my photos. They're so... "US." We're not a typical couple and she caught that on film. She caught our goofiness, our playfulness, and I believe you can genuinely see how much we love each other and how much fun we are having in our photos. I cannot recommend Kat enough. She is an amazing artist and human being.

When I first spoke to Kat over the phone, I booked her before the end of the call because she made me feel so at ease with everything. Kat is a fun, accommodating, down to earth photographer who really knows what's she's doing!  When she first got to the house, I felt like my long time friend just showed up and I could take a deep breath and relax. We wanted to be at our cocktail hour, which can be difficult without a first look. However, she somehow captured so many beautiful photos while allowing us to enjoy our day to the fullest. Our bridal party was at the cocktail hour the whole time, and many of them said it was the most painless wedding they've been in as far as posing for pictures goes!  If you're on the fence about hiring Kat, just go with your gut and hire Kat. You won't regret it!

My husband and I chose Kat for our winter elopement at Stowe Mountain Lodge and we couldn't have chosen a better photographer. Since we were driving to Vermont from Southern Ontario (just the two of us!), we were "winging it" in that we didn't really know where we were going to take the pictures, and I really wanted a white, wintery outdoor shoot. Even though the weather forecast was suggesting some rain, Kat's professionalism and unwavering confidence put me at total ease... no matter what, she was going to take some great pictures. We were lucky in that the weather was perfect but I have NO doubt that even if it rained she would have handled it like a pro. Her style is absolutely perfect - a terrific blend of posed photos with candid shots.... and the posed pictures look so natural AND flattering.. she KNOWS what she is doing - she truly has a gift. I'm extremely critical of myself in pictures and I had no problem choosing my favorites to frame on the walls in my home. To top it off she was very reasonably priced, and the quality of her work is TOP-NOTCH.

Kat did the photography for our very small Vermont wedding in Stowe and truly made it the most wonderful experience we could have hoped for. She was up to adventure with us into fields and forests and really did an amazing job capturing us-- and we are very photo shy folks. We felt so comfortable with her and after researching dozens of photographers she is an excellent choice if you want an easy and enjoyable day with tremendous results.

A wonderful super awesome photographer. Easy to work with. I'm still using the poses she taught me to look better in pictures
