Got 3 ice creams and a shake - it came out to $27. The ice reams were pretty good, basically what you expect from soft serve. The shake was thick and creamy. It was supposed to be coffee flavor, but there was almost zero flavor. Occasionally I would hit a pocket of flavor. Not great for a $6 shake. You can get flavor added to your soft serve which is basically a drizzle that they add. My daughter got hers with cotton candy and she said it was good.
Something’s changed this year. We’ve been long standing customers for over 10 years. In fact, I gave a 5 star rating last year describing the best, largest, most dense soft serve ice cream anywhere. My wife & I have been there several times since it opened this season. The ice cream cones are now served smaller and lighter. Dramatically different from the standard we and other long time customers would know. Today, I refused the first cone served to me and asked for another to be made to the standard I have come to know over the years. The second cone was even more pathetic than the first. I refused that one as well, and left very disappointed for another ice cream store. I hope this matter is perhaps is a training issue with the servers. This particular server today was a fine and polite young man. So no negative reflection on him. We hope that Kell’s has not changed their iconic standard. Also, they address the matter and provide appropriate training to their team members to continue to serve up hearty servings. If the standard has changed, please let people know. The old timers like us will be cast off. The newer customers won’t know the difference. In fairness, we’ll give it one more try. We went back a couple of weeks later. The ice cream cones were as big and delicious as we remembered them to be. So, this matter was corrected and Kell’s iconic standard restored. Give Kell’s a try when you’re in the mood for a real treat. Thank you Kell’s Kreme!
Treated myself to a ‘kiddie’ pineapple dole whip and it was so refreshing and survived well in the heat, too.
Best place on the beach to get ice cream by far. The soft serve is so silky, and they have great flavor bursts. The Dole whips are also delicious, and the sundaes are amazing. They do ice cream right. There’s even a small parking lot with a 15-minute limit if you don’t feel like parking along the road. Sometimes the lines are long, but they move fast. The prices are pretty average. Only complaint is that the machines are sometimes broken or something is out of stock, so you can’t get exactly what you want.
I spent $14 and got a vanilla ice cream in a cup & a small hot fudge sundae. The ice cream is so creamy... but they give so much I had to pull over & knock half into the garbage bc it was melting so fast & they filled the cup 4x the size of the cup. I had vanilla everywhere . My clothes, my car, my hands... what a mess! But it was good.
I have been coming to Kell’s ever since I can remember. I will always come to Kell’s for ice cream on hot summer days. My only issue with Kell’s is the staff. They look absolutely miserable and it is definitely being taken out on the customers. I have worked with large crowds before and it is common curtesy to smile at the very least at customers and not serve them with an attitude. The last three times I have been here I have been helped by a different girl and each of them have had horrible attitudes. I would also like to add that if an ice cream order is made I correctly due to staff miscommunication I would expect it to be remade, not have the top scraped off over the trash and then drenched in toppings to cover up the mistake. If you’re serving a comfort food such as ice cream, you should make customers feel comfortable when ordering.
Took the kids here just left 30 bucks in ice cream we couldn't eat it because it was soupy crying kids with soup dripping down their arms legs and chin yea it's a hot night but really I literally got it 30 second walk to the car and it's soup. If your machines can't keep up then get better ones. so much for an ice cream night for the kids thanks kells
