Kent Cellars Wine & Spirits

Came in looking for allocated whiskey like a lot of people this time of year. Wasn’t greeted when I walked in the door or when I was browsing. When I went to the counter to ask about it it was the first time I was actually spoken to which is crazy given there were at least 3 people working. I was told that they save allocations for people they are on a first name basis and then it felt if I was kind of dismissed. I was also in need of some wine and other normal whiskey but the interaction kind of soured me. Oddly enough, I am looking for a place that I can have this sort of relationship with as I am newly getting in to trying nicer bourbons. I’ve spent close to $4k in the last month buying all kinds of bourbons and this is the first time I had an interaction like this. Ah well, guess I’ll look elsewhere. Edited to add: Your staff was standing around. And they greeted the next person that came in. As stated, I was planning on buying more than what I was asking for. The next shop I went to didn’t have any rare whiskey either but that didn’t stop me from spending $2k on wine and whiskey they recommended to me.

In a hurry to grab a bottle of wine to surprise my wife at her office with sushi. Immediately the gentleman at the counter asked in I needed assistance. Told him my story, suggested a rose. Rang up and I was out in 3 min. DANG! He hit it on the head. The wine was perfect. Thanks for your help!

Been here about 3 times purely for the great selection and decent prices. That's where the praise ends. Every time I've had a different associate and they have all been lackluster at best. Each time I recieved: no greeting, zero assistance offered, and believe it or not, no eye contact. In fact, I had the audacity to ask for help once and got vague instructions with a hint of an attitude. They were all on their phones and wouldn't even look up when I checked out. Might not come back.

Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff take what is already a well-curated shop to the next level. Been coming here for years and won't be stopping soon.

Awesome place! Great selection and the prices are reasonable. Way more personal than those Total Wine people! Got some great recommendations from the manager there too. Will be sure to come back!

I walked in and asked for a good Rosé and the lady asked if I liked sweet or dry then gave me some recommendations which were spot on!

Convenient place but prices for some wines are kinda marked up. Spend you hard earned money on the same bottles but cheaper almost anywhere else. They do have other good wines mostly south american at a good price and have some good beers as well.

This is a great wine shop! This place is for those who are looking for hard to find bottles. And not just wine, but they have a well curated beer selection, as well as niche and esoteric spirits. They do have many run of the mill “have to have” brands you’d expect at most stores, but it’s dialed back a bit to keep their shelves open to smaller, less-known producers, highlighting a lot of local products, as well. Wines are also sorted not by varietal, but by country and some by state. There are several wine consultants there that are really great at helping suggesting and picking out the perfect bottle for whatever occasion it may be. Additionally, their $10 rack is AMAZING. Any combination from this rack is buy 5 - get the 6th free! Highly suggest!!

Used to love this place but the staff has gone down... The lady didn't even look away from her phone for a second while handling my transaction. She didn't ask if I had a phone number for membership and ask for my ID after my transaction...

I’ve frequented this place pretty regularly since moving to the apartments next door. I can find my way around a beer cooler well enough so have never really needed any help. Today, I went in looking for a bottle of Pinot Grigio. I’m not a wine drinker so asked where they were located as they have a pretty large wine selection and received vague instructions. The other customers in the store left and I spent 5 minutes wandering the wine aisle unable to find any Pinot Grigio while the employee looked at his phone. He merely glanced up as I was walking out the door empty handed. I won’t be back. I’m going to spend my money at a store where they can do a lot better at customer service than this.
