horrible staff. I feel bad for the cashier. She’s nice. Hennry the manager is a mean son of guy. Dirty store and this r all over the place.
Not super well stocked but they're getting better. Staff is mostly helpful but there’s always that crew of guys that are just hanging out by the entrance/exit/checkout doing I’m not sure what?. Other than that the place is fine. Food Town on Vanderbilt is better, as is the Key Food on 5th Avenue and the Natural Foods place across the street from this Key Foods on Flatbush and, well, you get the point...
Great beer selection, 24 hours. This is definitely one of the nicer Key Foods and I'll often find myself stopping by here rather than the one a few blocks away from my house if I'm in the mood for a walk. The produce can be a bit hit or miss, but that's typical of the chain from my experience.
The truth of the matter is this particular Key Food is a really nice place to visit. The only reason why I was there is because, I was hanging out with my mother. She lives in a nicer neighborhood than I. What I've seen in this Key Food were so many variety of foods beverages meats fruits / vegetables etc. There was even food I've never seen before. It was a nice place visit. I'd go there again. The sad truth is, I don't believe Key Food would build one of their stores in my neighborhood because, my neighborhood doesn't generate as much money as my mother's.
The only Keyfood I go to regularly. Before my neighborhood was gentrified to trust fund hipsterness, this Keyfood was one of very few supermarkets near me that offered quality groceries at good prices. I still love going here because I like the staff and management, but I'm more careful with my shopping because grocery prices have gone up.
Once you get past the giant beer wall, you'll be let down by this market. Small aisles that are tough to navigate followed by pretty terrible attitudes at cashier. Old spoiled produce. However the stuff in the aisles are generally nice and helpful. It's truly hit or miss. If you're looking for a neighborhood go-to market I strongly recommend hitting the Met Food a block away on Vanderbilt instead. Newly renovated and super roomy.
It was good today but alot of the time what's in the sale paper isn't available in the store, like they lure you in on false pretenses, cuz even when you come back the very next day early the item is still not available, but it's a 24hr. store, always open, clean & great for if you forgot a ingredient & other Supermarkets are closed
The shelves are empty. The air conditioning is so cold it is impossible to shop without a hoodie. Imagine having to remember to bring a hoodie to a store in July. Plus they do not carry key food dairy products. Really the worst store in the neighborhood
This is my favorite grocery store. They have everything! Hipster organic fun stuff to basic low cost staples. Even new Japanese items like miso paste and pre cooked udon noodles and all the special flours I need for baking. The are also so friendly! Always a nice experience to shop there.
Not bad for your basic NYC "supermarket". Depends on what you're comparing it with. I agree with the other reviewer who noted that it is much bigger inside than you would expect from the outside. Still pretty cramped if you're used to a "real" supermarket. I used to regularly shop at a 60,000 sq ft Publix in FL. Food selection is pretty good and I can generally find what I need. HUGE beer selection plus they fill growlers. It's just around the corner so I'm there frequently. A big plus is it's open 24 hours. High prices but that's totally expected in NYC. Checkout clerks vary between surly and friendly, but usually at least pleasant.
